This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Plumbing.

In this Badge Bit, you will set up a temporary water pump in a pond or water source.  (Note that this BB is part of a 6-part choose your own adventure list BB called the Tiny List. You must complete six Badge Bits in the Tiny List.)

I had to pump water from one rain barrel to a littler one up by my garden.  The bigger tank is about 5' lower and feeds into my greenhouse.  So I had to hook up a hose to the spigot in the greenhouse and pump it about 120' to the garden.

Rain is coming this next week, so time to empty all the roof rain barrels. Most of my building and my house we catch and store the rain coming off of them. Since I'm completely redoing the rain catchment off my main barn, the coopenheimer, I want to relocate the barrel for a better rain setup, so because this one is a 55gal drum, I normally use my manual pump.  In the picture I'm showing you the rain barrel, we are moving, one of our manual pumps, and some 5 gal containers to store the extra water in for the animals and the gardens. ( Plus I thought I might add a little bit of water to one of the small duck ponds too)

I have a rain barrel that I am using to pump water down to a area where I am making compost. I needed to water the compost using rain water collected in this rain barrel.

I filled my blue barrels with water from our gravity fed irrigation ditch in preparation for the end of irrigation season.
As the canal is empty and I can’t water from the ditch until next May, I set up this temporary pump to get me along until frost.

I used a simple 12v pump connected to an ego battery pack, attached via couplers to the spigot on the barrel.

I’m also including some gifs of the difference between draining and actively pumping.
