Mend in Public Day

Cool! I have a new pair of pants that I want to pre-mend. I am taking a class right now that is teaching me very little. I have thought about bringing the pants into class and sewing patches into them there.

Unfortunately the lecture I have on Sat. is by zoom - just not the same! However, if I finish installing a new zipper in Hubby's farm snuggly, I've then got  one of his flannel plaid shirt to patch the collar of. That's assuming I can't get his jeans off him, because he's got a couple of fast expanding worn-to-holes spots that are going to be embarrassing if I don't get on to fixing them!

This is an incredible, unique idea! Now I have something extra to bring with me on my Saturday in Missoula (and I have two shirts that I've ripped on barbed wire that need fixing, as well).

This Saturday I have somewhere to go and can't bring something to mend with me. But no problem, I can mend/darn every day I want to.
In general I do not wait until it is a special day. I mend what there is to mend whenever I got time to do it.
If the weather is good, I sit in my garden. I think that is 'public' enough. :-)

I love this! Even if you don't have an event near you I don't see why you can't simply mend on a park bench. It's sure to strike up a conversation with others.

Is anyone doing this?

I have been teaching my grandchildren to mend. The boys were not as eager, but performed well.
