I’ve cleaned the fridge relatively recently, so all I needed was water and elbow grease, with just a touch of dish soap in the butter compartment. As far as waste, spoiled produce went to my worm bin or compost heap. Anything with meat, dairy, salt, or much fat went to the garbage because I don’t have animals that can eat it.

I’ve been meaning to do this for a while so I’m relieved that I finally got it done
Under the drawers was particularly nasty and I had to let it soak in vinegar water for several minutes.
As far as food waste, there wasn’t much. I found some little potatoes that I baked a little over a week ago that I composted. There was a partial bag of carrots that froze so I thawed them and gave them to my dog as a treat. (His favorite)
The yogurt had gone bad and I couldn’t compost it so I had to pour it in the garbage but I’m keeping the container to store more leftovers in the future.
I only used warm water and a splash of vinegar.

Edited to finish adding the photos. I accidentally submitted the post before I was done uploading the pictures.

Well, this chore was way overdue!
I used distilled vinegar infused with cloves and cinnamon.
The organic waste went into my compost bucket (I live in an apartment, but I volunteer at a community garden where I take my food scraps), the non-compostable waste went into the trash can, and the stuff that was soaked up with the rag was washed down the sink.
