This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

For this BB, you will harvest, dry, and store enough fennel seed to make a tea, infusion or decoction.

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must post:
- a picture of the fresh herb being harvested
- a picture of your herbs drying (hanging, in a dehydrator, in a bag, etc.)
- a picture of your herbs in a sealed and labelled container, with the label indicating where the herbs came from, the method of drying, and the date

I harvested and hung dry fennel from my garden. Processing the seeds into the jar was a pleasant task because they smelled so good!

This is the second herb that I have dried from this list. I am planning to continue submit new herbs as I harvest and dry them under these Sand Badge threads so that I can make progress towards the Straw badge requirements. I figure no one wants to redo all of these same BB threads under the Straw Badge. Please let me know if I should be doing this’ll differently.

I'm running out of fennel tea, and I noticed that the fennel by the sidewalk in front of our apartment was full of seeds!! So I got my kitchen shears and went to work. I currently feel ridiculously silly for ever having spent money on fennel when it grows everywhere here.

My fennel did very well this year and has now gone to seed. I haven't found much to do with it so far, but maybe I will put it in our sausage next year.
