Travis Johnson wrote:Nice job on the felling of the tree, and getting snow.

Here in Maine we have the opposite effect, the trees are in autumn color now, but so, so many are still wearing green leaves. Never in my life have I ever seen the trees still having so many green leaves this late in the fall.

I wonder what that means - we are seeing the same thing here in New Mexico - our Cottonwood JUST dropped the last of it's leaves - in LATE NOVEMBER! It's never held on to them for this long.

Jennifer Richardson wrote:With Bella and Josiah living in the Abbey with me, cooking, working, and radiating body heat, the temperatures have been staying pleasantly warm. Here is a look at the longer term data for the four thermometers over the last month.

Good Morning. A few questions:

a) It appears to me that there are three living in the Wofati. All three in a bed, or is there a second room/floor camping/etc going on? I'm curious about the sleeping quarters to see if I missed anything.

b) Could you tell me what led to the big dips in the temps recorded on the charts? Thanks.

ps: I found your videos on YT delightful. I'd love to know more about that brown skirt that you're wearing in them. Is it an oiled tin pants type of skirt? Looks immensely practical. (yes, I am a man, and no, I don't wear skirts).

Appreciate your thoroughness, Jen!  This is such a detail-filled task, not very exciting or glamorous, yet so important.  Without this task, just having the wofati designed, built, and heated would be like the tree that fell in the forest.  Thank you Bella and Josiah and Cloud and whoever else is living there for inhabiting it!

Sometime when you have a few minutes, can any of you describe "pleasant temperature" a little more fully? would an elderly person with poor circulation feel comfortable?  Are you staying bundled up much of the time? are there certain pockets of time when you're cold until you've gotten the fire going?  Thanks!

Ditto Joshua... THANKS!  Working out the 'bugs' is the worst part of a new production, I think.  : )
