While not every place experiences the same kinds of seasons, I wanted to ask what is your favorite season and why? It could be as simple or as silly of a reason, no judgement.

My favorite season is the fall.

It is something about the chill in the air and the world starting to go into a slumber. I tend to get a lot of BIG outdoor projects done in the fall. I think it also is a fun time socially as there are plenty of events in my community to participate in.

Spring. And the farther north I move, the more true that is. Winter is loooooong up here.

Winter where I live gets gray and dreary but not cold enough for snow to stick around more than a few days. Plus I resent having to put on extra clothes whenever I walk out the door.

Spring where I live is wet and muddy, and the cold drags on and on, usually through the end of May.

Summer is nice but around here there's not enough of a breeze; we call it "the armpit". It's no fun lying in bed sweating when you just want to sleep.

Autumn is beautiful, and early autumn especially is where we get that "ideal" weather...but it comes with sadness, knowing the days are getting shorter, the leaves are falling, and winter is setting in.

Hard to pick one, and I get that all seasons are important/necessary/make you appreciate all the others, but I guess if I absolutely had to pick a favorite I'd go with early fall.

Definitely summertime.  Its when I can swim in everything, the ocean, lakes, rivers, streams, and its when most of my Renaissance/fantasy/pirate faires are that I perform at.

Winter is the only full season around here with tolerable outdoor temperatures. I used to be able to tolerate summer better, but after having heat stroke several years back I can't push myself in the heat like I used to. Things grow reasonably well considering the shorter daylight hours, and frosts are infrequent enough to not be a huge problem. I don't even have to look it up to see if we have had a proper frost yet because all of my sweet potato vines are still alive. They used to die back hard if it barely touched 38F but now they seem to barely survive 34F. Plus all of the trees start growing back before the start of spring, so I can already see vibrant colors like red maple leaves starting to grow. When winter ends, it's a long hot humid time until the weather gets reasonable again.

When the leaves on the hardwood trees change colors in the fall, the temperatures dip, and you can smell the sweet scent of hickory smoke coming from peoples' chimneys, that is my favorite time of year. Like spring, it is a sensory feast, but with a bit of melancholy. Spring is my second favorite.

Honestly each season has its blessings, delights AND challenges. Here are a few from me in western NC…
Winter blessings - lots of quiet cozy indoor hibernation time
Challenge - I’m COLD all the time!
Spring blessings - the earth wakes up with wonderful smells, colors, life, birds return! Yay!
Challenge - oh lord! The mud!
Summer blessings - Crops are planted and some can be harvested, fresh raspberries! Smoothies galore! Ice cream! The creek bubbles along happily! Shorts & short sleeves!
Challenge - no work in the garden possible between 12-4pm. Too darn brutally hot! And the bugs! Ouch they bite!
Autumn blessings - Harvest! Canning! Baking! Wonderful smells, the weather is perfect - not too hot, not too cold. A sweater feels good!
Challenge - knowing what’s coming…winter
How about you???

Warm/hot, I adore the sun (but don't sunbathe), everything is mellow and golden and green, all the senses get pampered... I adore the summer!

Well, if you live on the Canadian prairies, I think you need to embrace winter or suffer some mental health issues.

As noted, all the seasons have good points and not so good points.  Of course a good point for one individual is a not so good point for another.

I like winter, but I am a bit sadistic.  Unless I overdress, I don't automatically sweat walking the dog (I got a bit damp this morning and the official temperature at the airport before we left was -27C).  There are fewer other pedestrians out getting in my way.  One downside is that the maniac drivers may not be able to stop where/when they should (twice in the last week I've had closer than ideal encounters with automobiles at a 4 way stop...what a maroon).  When it's sunny, it's incredibly bright with the reflection off the snow as well.  Downside is that the days are short enough I don't get out in the sun as much as I'd like (dog walks occur before sunrise these days...wonderful moon this morning with Venus if I recall...even in our incredibly light-polluted city).  You can always add more / more appropriate clothing to deal with the cold.

I think perhaps with a big garden I get a bit too time-stressed over spring planting and fall harvest, so I lose some appreciation for those seasons.  Summer varies, but can be quite hot and humid and depending on conditions, the mosquitoes are famed....

Summertime, hands down.  Its when I can swim/play in the water, and its when most of my faires that I perform at occur.
