House with animals. A dividing wall in between creates essentially, an attached barn. That means I can still keep the animal noises, mess, & smells to a minimum in the human side, while giving me easy access, via a door in that wall, to take care of them. That could be an incredible boon, in inclement weather, &/or when my body isn't being cooperative. It's also how many of our ancestors used to live, for many reasons, including those I mentioned, and the added heating the animals bring to the party, in the winter. This is actually something I've considered, for a time later in my life, if I have to manage living without my hubby, but am not ready to even think about giving up my critters. That said, my livestock are primarily small quantities of small critters - small breed goats, small breed sheep, chickens, and ducks. Nothing so pervasively... fragrant... as cattle, hogs, or equines.
