Thinking why not spread pitch on the steps and then sprinkle some sand on that? Homemade sandpaper for when it's wet/icey.

I think they are beautiful! I want to create these kinds of stairs too, I have a spot at my place that needs something like this! Thank you Mike for creating these stairs. :)

The railing looks like Gandalf's staff! It just needs a white stone (big chunk of quartz?) and it will be complete. I will keep an eye out for something in the right proportions this summer.
