My dad is on the uphill rise. He's coming back home with me sometime this week with hospice. Way better news than what was given to us earlier this week.

Great to hear that he has some more time.

Can we all just make him a promise that we will do our best to have more of us on this side than there are on the other? Always.

Grace to you and your family during these days, John. Thank you so much for all your contributions you've made to so many around the world. To this usually silent stalker of Permies, the Polk name is synonymous with a good discussion.
I take faith that most who dabble in the garden understand that life isnt to be taken seriously and grasped at - its to be loved, appreciated, then composted.
Im deeply relieved to know we have people like John in our soil ecology.

He died peacefully in his sleep yesterday, surrounded by his family, to whom I send my most profound sympathies.
