Hey Kate, not sure what you all have planned. As one of many ideas, do you think you might be able to send out an update to the people who supported your kickstarter?

We are now roughly two thirds of the way through the kickstarter so I thought I would give some of you an update on how you have done so far! If you're name is not on this list then I don't think you have more than 1 backer yet. But it's possible I have missed someone. So if you're curious let me know!

name# of backerspledged
David Huang28$885
lesley verbrugge5$360
Richard Gorny6$300
Andrew Shindyapin6$285
Amanda Smith8$180
Jeff Higdon7$140
Daron Williams5$110
Mike Leonido5$80
Kate Downham2$20

We just released a huge list of stretch goals. And we have reached 4 of them already and are half-way to the 5th! Maybe now is a good time to contact your peeps again?

Thanks for the update Shawn.  It's exciting to see what I'm doing has some impact, even if it's minor in the overall scope of the campaign.  I just posted about the book to another Facebook group that seems oriented to the same basic issues but looking through the lens of the financial independence movement with a particular focus on homesteading approaches to life.

Could I get a spiffy link just for lil ole me? I forgot all about it when the Kickstarter started.  I know one friend who saw me share the main link on FB supported the book. I will post and share again. Thank you!

Here's a bit of an update for you, the kickback folks. Maybe you can use pieces of this to send out another email?

We are trying to get an audiobook made.   But we designed the whole kickstarter to have really narrow margins - making things super cheap for the backers (and loaded with goodies) for a teeny tiny kickstarter.   We have announced that we can do the audiobook if we hit $100,000 in our kickstarter.

Please help!   I think this is our only chance to get the audiobook made for this book!

The way things are going, we need a bump.  You could bring us that bump!

Right now, people supporting our kickstarter for just $10 get:

- 2 copies of the ebook - an extra copy for a friend
- Permaculture Playing Cards eBook (4 gift codes)
- Care and Feeding of a Rocket Mass Heater (4 gift codes)
- Rocket Ovens Cooking Microdoc (4 gift codes)
- Hugelkultur Microdoc (4 gift codes)
- 21 Podcast Review of Sepp Holzer's Permaculture
- Permaculture Experience eBook (gift code)
- Build a Cob Style Rocket Mass Heater DVD (Stream) (4 gift codes)
- Build the Giant Solar Dehydrator (81 min stream) (4 gift codes)
- 5 Hour Video Tour of Wheaton Labs (4 gift codes)

And at $100 they get:

- 12 physical copies, or 36 ebooks, or mix and match
- one of the physical copies will be signed by both Shawn and I
- your most creative name appears in the book
- early access to the manuscript
- the book Clean with Cleaners You Can Eat by Raven Ranson
- the 3-DVD set (as streaming) of World Domination Gardening
- Michael Judd’s book Edible Landscaping with a Permaculture Twist

And if we hit our goal of $100,000 the $100 level backers also get:

- the audiobook
- Erica Wisner’s spiffy new Rocket Mass Heater plans
- 4 gift codes for the giant solar food dehydrator plans
- free access to a bunch of events at wheaton labs
- the book Organic Pools DIY manual by David Pagan Butler

And … if (!!!) … we shoot past that goal, we have more beautiful stretch goals:

- 7 of my microdocs
- the documentary Chemerical
- the rough draft version of four other books I am working on
- the book Dairy Farming - the Beautiful Way by Adam Klaus
- all of the video from Permaculture Voices 1
- the book Early Retirement Extreme by Jacob Lund Fisker
- tickets to an in person permaculture design course
- tickets to an appropriate technology course
- all of the video from the Eat Your Dirt summit
- spend 2 to 7 nights getting first hand experience with a rocket mass heater
- the book The Scoop on Poop by Dan Chiras
- the book Compost Everything by David the Good
- the book Together Resilient by Ma’ikwe Ludwig
- the documentary Desert or Paradise by Sepp Holzer
- the book Backyard Dairy Goats by Kate Downham
- the documentary Living the Change by Happen Films

Please tell your peeps! I really want to hit that audiobook stretch goal!

Funny, at about the same time you were making this post, Shawn, I was making a post on my FB page to push the audio book stretch goal.  It doesn't look like much of a response so far unfortunately, but we'll see what happens.  I'd very much like to see the audio book happen too!

I don't know how many people I know would be interested in the audiobook but I've got some friends who could be persuaded based on donations to libraries, so that's what I'm pushing at the moment.

I've just posted this and shared it to food photography websites. Hopefully it's not too late and my tomatoes will bring in a few more pledges!

Hi Kate, just took a look at your post. Thanks for the plug!

I noticed that your link text is the same as your regular text. Is that intentional? Or is it just too early for me to notice that they are actually different?

Last few days! I have another blurb about the kickstarter in my newsletter for this week. Should go out in just over 30 min to 460 people. Hope it brings in a few more people!

I'm also going to do one more push on Steemit today or tomorrow.

That is intentional. I link to things often and think it looks cluttered to have the link in a different colour. I have had only one click through to the Kickstarter from the blog post so far (but there may have been some coming from Wordpress reader and email subscriptions as well), so maybe you have raised a good point about link visibility.

My post is still in the queue of the food photo websites, sometimes I get viral posts from these photo sites so hopefully this will be one of them.
