CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE KICKSTARTER

We want to reach a huge audience with this kickstarter. We think that this book has the potential to really move permaculture forward and open up all sorts of excellent opportunities for anyone involved in permaculture.

We are planning to offer kickbacks to people who promote the kickstarter. Below is what we are offering. The idea is to double incentivize extra support - more money from more backers and more money per backer.

In the past people have asked for a link and then only had 1 supporter - they were giving themselves a discount. So... If you bring in 2 or more supporters:

5% kickback if you bring in $100 to $500
10% kickback if you bring in $500 to $1000
15% kickback if you bring in $1000 to $5000
20% kickback if you bring in $5000 to $10,000
25% kickback if you bring in $10,000 to $50,000
30% kickback if you bring in $50,000 or more

This is open to anyone who wants in. If you let us know that you are interested, we'll set up some spiffy links and send them to you once the kickstarter is live. If someone supports after clicking those links, then we'll send you a cut.

Some ideas of places to share:
- local mailing lists
- your own mailing list
- Facebook pages/groups
- twitter
- pinterest, instagram, youtube ... lots of other social media stuff
- your own website
- your own podcast
- forums
- your current or previous kickstarter supporters
- your client/customer list
- the resources of somebody you know and you can split the pot!
- other creative places you come up with

If you're a non-profit organization (or even if you're not) and use kickback codes, you could share this project and say something like "these guys have agreed to give us a percentage of every pledge that supports through this link!"

Count me in for some spreading the word please! I'd probably donate the kickback back to the cause but it'd be fun to see how many brains I can help inoculate with this.

FYI:  on the first day, we will look up your permies.com email address and send you an email with a special link.

You are welcome to reply to the email and request more links:   maybe one for "my email list" and another for "my local permies email list" and another for twitter and etc. etc. etc.

I can say that for the kickstarter last year, I made about 500 special codes and I checked the results of the codes about ten times a day.  And if an email worked well, then I would send a second email - the odd thing is that the second email often brought in more than the first email.   And then I would send a third email about 48 hours before the end of the kickstarter, and that one would do even better still!

I guess I am trying to say that if other folks want lots of codes to see which thing works best, I am glad to provide those.  If you try five things and two of them did really good, it just makes sense to put more effort into those two - or things like those two.

Yay! You'll all get a link! Or, if you want to track multiple different efforts, we can get you two or three or twenty different links. Just let us know in this thread!

Also not too late to get in on this. So if you wanna play, post in this thread.

The kickstarter starts tuesday at 2.

I don't get access to the referral codes until the kickstarter starts.  Plus, there will be about 20 things I have to do immediately.  And once I give you all your codes, there's about 100 more things I need to try to get done on the first day.   So to speed things up, I plan on posting everybody's code here rather than sending you each an email.  That will be a bit faster for me.   My guess is that none of you will object since if somebody uses your code, it just brings you extra coin.

If this doesn't work for some reason, please let me know now!

Any rough estimate on the time the links will be available? I'm sending out my weekly newsletter tomorrow and I was going to include a mention about the kickstarter. Just trying to time it all.

Normally I send my newsletter out at 11:00am Pacific Time but I could change that if needed to get the kickstarter link in.

I'm also going to add a promotion on my blog for the kickstarter and sharing it on my social media accounts.

It will be interesting to see how it all works out!

Daron, thanks for all you are planning to do to promote this kickstarter!

The kickstarter goes live at 2 PM mountain time. Kickstarter does not allow us to generate codes until after that. So beginning shortly after 2 PM we are going to start plowing through our massive list of things to do, one of which is to generate everyone codes!

Edit: Paul beat me by 8 seconds.

Sounds good - I will just get my newsletter ready to go and add the link as soon as it is available and hit send. Delaying it a few hours won't make a big difference.

Thanks for the info!
