General
The limitations of an apartment can make animal care beyond a pet seem intimidating. Animal production in such spaces feels out of reach to many. However, it is entirely possible to encourage wildlife as well as to create productive animal systems in the confines of an apartment. Eggs, meat, fiber, compost, and natural pest control can all be accomplished in an apartment.

Sand

Quail are illegal in Wyoming without a special permit.  You may want to warn folks to check local/county/state etc laws before getting an animal for their PEA BB.  AND of course our city has a very strict law about bringing into town or raising in town any animal to be slaughtered for meat.  So while I could legally have an angora rabbit for spinning fiber raising meat rabbits would be illegal...

Also keeping a single fiber rabbit for more then 3 or 4  weeks is at least equal in experience to keeping multiple rabbits...  they do take a slightly different skill set as the coats must be groomed but the yummy fiber for spinning is worth the work.

That's a neat restriction you have Dorothy!

The default presumption with PEP and PEA is that the person following the program is investigating and following all state, local and national laws, is getting any and all permits, certifications, licenses and degrees in order to do the work legally, is using all hazmat, safety and personal protective equipment and that they have the permission of their landlord, mayor, mom, dad, child, neighbor and pastor.   If we had to specify particulars with every badge or have specific warnings, people would forever be finding new situations where we should have warned them about something.

Question about where to submit BB posts for this, specifically feeding kitchen scraps to a vertebrate. Here in PEA it says 1 gallon, but there's no link to a thread. Over in PEP (where there is a link to a specific thread) it says 8 gallons. I have guinea pigs and rabbits, and a dog. It's going to take a minute to get up to a gallon, let alone 8.

I’m not giving up on PEP, but I have gotten to the point where it is increasingly difficult to complete BBs from home. I’m thinking of starting to knock out some PEA badges. Can I repost here work that earned me a PEP animal care BB or does everything posted here need to be independent work?

You just get credit in PEA for any PEP Animal Care BBs you've done.  So if you did 3 in PEP, that saves you 3 points that you don't have to do in PEA.  No need to repost or resubmit, just mention them when applying for your PEA badge.

Ideas:
Raise crickets, mealworms, pinkies, or other small things as food for lizards, snakes, and dragons.
Groom your animal. Trim nails, sanitary cut, brush teeth, brush coat, bathe, express glands...

Can you smell this for me? I think this tiny ad smells like blueberry pie!
