This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Nest.

In this Badge Bit, you will build a condensation collection or prevention system for one window to prevent the sill from getting moldy.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
   - build a condensation collection or prevention system for one window to prevent the sill from getting moldy

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must provide proof of the following with pictures (or a video < 2 mins long):
   - before, during, and after of building a condensation prevention system for one window
   - demonstrate the condensation collection system actually works
   - demonstrate it meets the above stated requirements

I'm really interested in this. A lot of BBs have several videos to start learning about the topic. Is there any information on what others may have done before for this? Thank you.

I don't think we were able to find one.  Or we didn't look hard enough.  I did this in my greenhouse by taking some thin aluminum channel for house siding and taping it to the glazing and angling it to drip at a desired location.  But it probably wouldn't work for a house window.  I think this is a BB where you're inventing something...

Will this idea qualify for this BB?

I have many worn out jeans I recycle to use elsewhere.  I researched windowsill condensation catchers and would like to create my own natural "sock" to catch the moisture.  I'm making a couple from the legs of my old jeans and filling them with old jean seams.  My idea is to let it absorb the moisture then swap it out with a fresh one while it dries (in a greenhouse to reuse the moisture).  They can also double as door draft mats.

Thanks, Tina
