This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

For this BB, you will create an infusion of mullein leaf or root. Infusion is a method of extracting desired compounds from plant material by steeping the material in hot or cold water, depending on the plant and its attributes.

To show you’ve completed this Badge Bit, you must post:
- a picture of your mullein leaf or root being harvested
- a picture of the infusion being made
- a picture of the finished infusion

Here is my submission for the Natural Medicine Aspect - Sand for Straw - Create an infusion of Mullein Leaf BB.

I harvested Mullein at Wheaton Labs during the BB20 event last October and more during the PTJ 2021.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
- a picture of your mullein leaf or root being harvested
- a picture of the infusion being made
- a picture of the finished infusion

I made an infusion from fresh mullein leaf. I put it in a tea bag so none of the fine hairs would be left in the infusion. Internet sources said fresh leaf needs to steep longer than dried leaf, so I let it steep while I napped -- about an hour or so.

I did this at the same time as my https://permies.com/wiki/152273/pep-natural-medicine/Create-infusion-dandelion-leaves-PEP#2442215" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">dandelion infusion attempt, the dandelion is in the glass, while the mullein here is in the ceramic.

I made a single tea of both, but also individual infusions of each separately :)

My whole house is full of sick people!! 😫 this week, I made them a big pot of helpful herbs. This one had mullein in it for the respiratory benefits.
