Deep cleaned the freezer of the house at which I'm currently care-taking for. I think it's safe to say it had been a while.
Dumped a bit of food into the compost,  used hot water and some Meyer's surface cleaner. https://www.mrsmeyers.com/

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must provide:
  - a before picture of the dirty interior of a freezer
  - an action shot of the interior being cleaned
  - an after picture of the interior of the freezer
  - a description of how waste was handled and what cleaners were used

My chest freezer was building up ice too quickly, so I thawed it to clean it. I used just warm water on most of it, with a little greywater-safe soap (ECOS dishmate) on the gasket. A few items were thrown onto the compost pile -- 2 bags of freezer burnt smoothie ingredients and a couple of small packages of off-tasting nuts. Some things were moved to our fridge/freezer, which is why it's not as full
yet after being cleaned.

Freezer emptied and cleaned before moving fridge unit.   Hot water and vinegar only.   No real "waste" here for this portion,  as freezer was cleaned first, and dish of hot water/vinegar was continued on to next project (fridge inside cleaning).   Washable cloths used.   Inside was washed,  let vinegar water sit,  then rubbed down and dried well.

I like to defrost my freezer at the beginning of winter. I had a build up of quite a bit of ice so unplugged the freezer to let it defrost quicker. To speed up the process, I used a screwdriver to remove the top layer of ice. After it defrosted, I used a cloth and warm water to wipe down the surfaces. I dried it with one of the towels I'd put on the floor to prevent the water dripping onto the floor. There was no waste.

I cleaned the freezer today. First I emptied it, unplugged it, and wiped the inside with a damp microfiber cloth. Then I wiped it dry with napkins (I was out of paper towels). I also took out the trays in the door and washed them in the sink. I did not have any waste, but there was some older food I had forgotten about that I moved to the frig to eat soon.
