Notify me on launch vs Remind me buttons on kickstarter

I've done the "notify" button and it seems that it's purpose is what it says - click it pre-campaing to send you an e-mail at the beginning of the said campaign. When you click on it, it changes to "saved" and I think after the start it will show in your account under the "saved projects"

On the other hand, "remind me" is available only when that campaign is up and running, and when you click on it there is this message (and it also changes to "saved"):
"Project saved.
We'll send you an email notification 48 hours before this project ends. We'll also use this to improve your recommendations. To disable that, visit your user settings.
To view and manage projects you've saved, go to Saved projects."

Hope this helps...

When the kickstarter begins today, this is the monthlyish i am thinking of sending:

kickstarter; together we can infect more brains

The kickstarter is live.

And, as always, I am plotting and scheming to infect more brains.

If a thousand people back this project today (even if they are all in for just a dollar) then this project shows up at the top of the whole kickstarter site.  And the millions of people perusing kickstarter are more likely to learn a little about rocket mass heaters.

This is the moment to cause change.

And get all this stuff at the $1 level.  :)

- a new 30 page eBook on RMH riser designs
- the short movie "Cooking with a Rocket Oven"
- the short movie "Care and Feeding of a Rocket Mass Heater"
- the short movie "12 Rocket Mass Heaters at Wheaton Labs"
- the short movie "Rocket Mass Heater Season Extender"
- "Truly Passive Greenhouse Movie" Part 1: Design
- 24 podcast review of "Desert or Paradise" by Sepp Holzer
- 4 hours of content from the 177 hours PDC+ATC
- “Kickstarter Backer” icon on permies.com by your name
- cool public thanks
- Permaculture Chickens eBook by Justin Rhodes
- Sepp Holzer movie "Terraces and Raised Beds"
- Living Woods Magazine
- Market Garden Playing Cards as an eBook
- Willie Smits presentation "Village Based Permaculture"
- Michael Judd webinar "Water Harvesting and Soil Building"
- Kate Downham eBook "How to Start a Bulk Food Pantry on a Budget"
- Leigh Tate eBook "How to Make an Herbal Salve"
- eBook "Grain-Free Sweets and Treats" by Kate Downham
- Stockman Grass Farmer Journal
- a children's eBook "The Longest, Darkest Night"
- 10 chapters from "Build a Better World in Your Backyard"
- 9 chapters from SKIP

All that stuff is just for a buck. Of course there is more at the higher levels.  Take a look:

Suppose we get to 400 backers ...  and the average backer level is $15 ...  $6000.  Not funded.   Oof - we need to work harder ...

Does the earlybird image look okay?  Are the talky bubbles at the top sized okay?

Seems like the top talky bubble is squeezy and the bottom talky bubble is bigger.  With two lines of text each, could they be the same size?

I do love the "peck here" bit though . . .

I was totally distracted by the cute chickens ...

Maybe the talky bubble could be a light green to separate the text from the early bird descriptions?

So I'm really excited about the inclusion of the ebook for families/kids.  I think having rewards that broaden the appeal is really cool, and if someone really isn't into it then it could be a gift to give away.  But I'm curious what others think.

Click thumbs up if you're excited that the kids book is an earlybird reward.

On the one hand:  we have put together a brilliant and amazing product.  And kickstarter.  We are using "the best" from all past kickstarters.  It should be our all time best performing kickstarter ever!

On the other hand:  everything i have tried in the last year seems like it is in molasses.  Fewer people in the bootcamp, fewer sales for summer events ...  everything seems smaller and slower ...  even the number of people signed up to watch the kickstarter is less than last year ...   so it all just seems set for a flop ....

A long, long list of all sorts of variables ...  I can't tell what is going to happen.  Will it get funded at all?

I updated the wheaton-labs.com home page with a link to the campaign.

https://wheaton-labs.com/

It would be lovely if some folks could check it out, tell me if everything works, and give me any ideas to make it more awesome!

After the campaign launches, I'll generate referral codes to track performance from these buttons and other places.  If you want your own referral code so you can get paid to help us spread the word, post here: permies.com/kickback

I made it red, and I replaced the image with the video.  Looks better to me.

Any else have any opinions about the call to action at wheaton-labs.com?

Working on the FAQ section.

What questions do people have about the project?

What would you need to know if you happened upon the kickstarter?

I live in a year round warm climate, how can rocket mass heaters benefit me?

And asking the question got me thinking about it

The cooking solution is a big one for me. Reducing the amount of smoke when cooking with wood is crucial and I think this tech will help a lot of vulnerable communities in the future by reducing its output drastically and also by allowing the possibility of better forest management.

The rocket boost to the solar dehydrator is also a great idea and could be a very useful tool in the homestead.

Also a sauna is always handy no matter how hot it can get jaja cause health benefits and stuff

I bet there are a lot more possibilities once you start seeing RMHs as an option. This is indeed the way forward to create a better world!
