I agree that being new to permaculture can be overwhelming! There are so many ideas to try and principles to practice. The information available through permies has been invaluable. I have even made a few local permie friends through the site. Building a local community of restorative gardeners is the key to sustainable food. I am glad to be a among fellow goofballs.

Kimberlay Kiernan wrote:👩‍🦳  Yes! The topic and information is HOT right now. AT least where I AM, there are hordes of newbies that have escaped here from elsewhere, and have NEVER gardened but feel they MUST if they are going to survive. You know...."grow your own". Well a lot of us are new to the location, new to getting our hands dirty, have no idea how to start, what to plant, how to actually DO that, how much to watch, weed, water (www.) and when to harvest, seed save, grieve the loss of your experiment, gain the lesson, apply it and change and then start again. With GRATITUDE!  If that could come out ONLINE how incredible that would be. Besides your kickstarter bonuses are magical.

I love 1111.  It's kind of like my happy number.  It always seems to find me in lovely and hilarious ways.

So this was a happy moment:

1111

"notify!" said in the same way Paul says "certified!" in the kickstarter video.

Paul, I think you and the team have pulled together a really good selection of rewards. Everything offered will have universal appeal to anyone who is interested in better-than-organic, permaculture gardening. Adding the past early bird goodies really sweetened the pot. I'm truly excited about sharing this kickstarter with my blog audience.

I'm also really happy that you put the full, edited video at the $80 pledge level. I know there was some discussion about making it higher, but I'm relieved you kept it there. I don't mean to sound like a cheapskate, because I think your projects have all been worthy of support. But I'm in that category of people on fixed income, for whom inflation has narrowed the options of how I can use my money. At $80, I feel like I can make a tangible contribution to something I believe in, and I'm thrilled that I can get access to this course!

In a couple of hours, I am planning on sending an email to everybody.  This the moment to add any changes or polish.  Can I make it more concise?

Garden Master Course kickstarter starts tuesday at 2

This is paul, the nervous nelly ...   We're close enough to being ready that I'm willing to announce a start time.  Tuesday at 2!

The earlybird list is ripe.  More than 1100 people have done the "notify me on launch" thing.

  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/paulwheaton/garden-master

Clicking on "notify me on launch" gives you a 24 hour head start on getting the earlybird stuff on time!

The rewards and the video are now looking well polished. We have heaps of banners and graphics ready. We have posted a new video where Helen describes the difference between the Master Gardener Courses she used to teach and the Garden Master Course we recorded. Lots of people have asked for kickback codes. The movie from the last kickstarter should be ready later today.

What am I forgetting? What do you need for this to work for you?

QUESTION: In this line from the Kickstarter Story:

Learn how to propagate, save seed, space your plants, prune your plants, protect from frost, and rotate crops for long-term success.

Should the word 'seed' remain as is or have an 's' at the end? I understand that sometimes 'seed' can be interpreted as plural. So, 'seed' or 'seeds?'

A bunch of us met this morning to go over what do we need to do before the kickstarter launches today.  We ended up spending way too much time changing our minds about the title and the blurb.

I present ...  the results

The Beyond-Organic Garden Master Course

35 hours of video about increasing food production and problem solving for home gardens, commercial gardens or food forests.

What do you think?
