This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Greywater and Willow Feeders.

In this Badge Bit you will use water from a dishpan to flush a toilet or water something.

(source)

Here are some threads on the larger context of willow feeders and poop beasts:
 - Tree Bog vs Dry Outhouse
 - The First Willow Feeder
 - Willow Feeder #3 - Willow Wonka
 - Willow Bank
 - Poop Beasts

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
  - use water from a dishpan
     - to flush a toilet, or to water something outside
     - at least three gallons
     - verify high quality biodegradable dish soap (the soap usually says "greywater safe" or "readily biodegradable")

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must:
 - a picture of the dishpan with water
 - a picture of the at least 3 gallons of water being used to flush a toilet or water something
 - a picture and link to the verifiable biodegradeable dish soap
 - OR a 2-minute video of you doing the above and a link to the verifiable biodegradeable dish soap

The three gallons of water came from multiple dish pans being added to the buckets in this picture. I added one more dishpan to the bucket on the left to fill the left bucket.

I used the full left bucket to flush this toilet.

The soap that was used in ECOS PRO Dishmate Manual Dish Liquid

Staff note (Mike Barkley) :

"readily biodegradable". I certify this BB is complete.

Hey, will this particular dish soap pass the test?

It says 'biodegradable cleaning ingredients," but I'm no chemist.

(edit after the fact, no.)

I bought the ecos soap so I can do the greywater BB's:
https://www.ecos.com/product/dish-wash/dishmate-dish-soap/free-clear/

Sink #1:

4 cups at a time was not going to last long

green can made it go faster

Water mostly put just outside the kitchen

This bowl is a bit over a gallon when full

More bowls, no the dishrag was not dumped

A few more, so it's waaaay more than 3 gallons

Staff note (Ashley Cottonwood) :

I certify this BB complete!

I am confused why at least 3 gallons of greywater to flush toilet. Most times I can flush with just a gallon or so, if I lift the bucket high enough and dump it quick enough. Since we have to be hooked up to a septic system and there is only one bathroom, shower water is saved and used for the toilet and watering plants and compost and trees, etc. Even in winter in the Northeast the snow gets watered too. Nutrients are nutrients no matter the season. Even in storms and power outages lasting for days a bucket of pee can be used for flushing the toilet.

I would certify 3 one gallon flushes. I don't think the intent is to flush the toilet but to reuse 3 gallons of greywater.

Here's pics from me using water from doing dishes and rinsing vegetables to water plants in the yard. The jug holds about 2 gallons, and I've used it more than once. It's a cat litter jug that's been repurposed as a watering can.

The soap is Dr. Bronner's castile soap. Says 100% biodegradable on the bottle, and I've seen it on multiple grey-water safe lists.

I bought this plumber's tool way back so I could easily start syphons without using my mouth. Comes in handy if I forget to wash the dishes in a portable container.

I'm wondering if used bath water would count for this badge. I tend to bail it out with a 5 gallon bucket.
Either way, I used my dishwater. I use Ecos brand dish detergent, website: https://www.ecos.com/faq/?highlight=faq

I saved a few days' pictures.

Here's draining the sink.

Staff note :

Can you please show: 1) Your soap at home that matches the link you posted. 2) Something that shows the volume of the blue container is each at least one gallon.
