The smell of pineapple weed is the smell of childhood. I loved them. I remember picking a bouquet of them to my grandmother, who was not very much pleased, and so I learned it was a weed and of no use.

Until now!

Since the uses google tell me about are for the leaves and the flowers, I stripped away the woody stems before drying. Don't know if that was a waste of effort, though. What do you guys use pineapple weed for?

I found this apple tree about 10 yards from a gravel biking trail that I use to get to work. The easiest way to harvest was to climb the tree. The fancy fruit picker was too slow. I harvested much more than we needed (about 30lbs since I didn't tare the weight of the container). I'm assuming (based on the previous people who posted) that the 20lbs harvest requirement is the wet weight before any processing and core removal. I didn't weigh the apple slices after being processed.

I'll begin with harvesting pineapple weed on my walk between properties. I'll post again when I've harvested enough to meet the requirements. So far I have 5.1 + 7.9 for 13 of 16 oz.
I have never really liked the flavor of chamomile but I find pineapple weed tea really nice! go figure.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
Harvest, dry and store one of the following:
One pound (fresh weight) of:
    o nettle
    o mint
    o rose hips

    o pineapple weed

To document your completion of the BB, provide the following:
- A picture of one of the plants/fungi in the wild
- A picture of the bounty on a scale showing the weight
- A picture of the dried goodies in or with their storage container

Note: Hey, Dave. I'm sorry again. The scale picture is really important. I need proof of 5 pounds of berries for this bb. Also, are these berries from your yard? To count for this badge, they need to be foraged, as in not cultivated. We have to be stinkers for the exact required pictures for each bb, otherwise it's not fair to everyone. This bb also requires a picture of your dried berries in or by their storage container.

After a long summer of drought we've had a great autumn for mushrooms. Here's a few trips worth of puffballs totaling to almost 7 pounds- probably collected more, but at some point I stopped weighing everything- there was a good week that my house smelled like drying puffballs. The final picture has other collected mushrooms that I'll post in a follow up BB
