I'm super depressed. I spent all year waiting for the cottonwood buds, took a bunch of pictures when I harvested it, and now they're missing.

I'm going to just post the pictures I have, so I don't lose those, too.

I have been making this salve for a few seasons now! I love it on my face and as a belly oi to resist stretch marks. (I'm super pregnant now, and still don't have any!) However, I didn't pick enough buds this spring to keep me supplied in buds til my due date. So imagine my excitement when I found them in Yellowstone National Park (before the big road flooding!) they hadn't budded out yet, since it's colder there. So no I have all I need. YAY! My little 6-graders helped me gather the buds, and I added beeswax to the hot infusion, along with rose and lavender and myrrh to make my belly rub.

I picked some Cottonwood buds at the beginning of February. Then I soaked them in coconut oil. I left it on my water heater for six weeks for a low 'n slow heat infusion. Last night I squeezed the oil out of the buds. A messy process, but it is done. The video shows my picking process.

I make this oil every year for stretch marks. Some years I add wax for a salve, some years not. Last year, I made both. Either is amazing for stretch marks! I added olive oil for the infusion, and wheat germ oil for the vitamin E content.
