This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Greywater and Willow Feeders.

For this Badge Bit you will create a Level One Pee Spot.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
Moderately established plants, very little privacy
Include a layer of wood chips on the ground, at least 18 inches in diameter, 2 inches deep
could be a pre-existing mulch pit
Mulch pits are a different, straw-level BB
Must be a moderately established poop beast or urine-loving plant, that is active during the time the pee spot is in use
Trees are at least three feet tall
annual vines at least three feet long
rhubarb at least 18 inches tall
Provide proof that you’ve added two gallons of water to the pee spot at least once
Include a can full of sawdust or wood chips within arm’s reach
              At least 20 gallons
With a lid that keeps the rain off
              With a scoop
can (or lid) is clearly labeled “sawdust” (or “wood chips”)
       include outdoor signage (“PEE HERE!”)
showing people how to use the pee spot
encouraging people to diversify their urine placement all over the property, all over the sawdust in this pee spot and other pee spots
              “Pee anywhere on this sawdust!”
Sign needs to name at least one plant and cite the plant’s ability to take up ample urine
Sign needs to suggest that a bit of water from time to time will help the plants take up the urine
Sign needs to instruct people that if the spot smells or there are flies, add more wood chips
Sign must be weatherproof and capable of lasting several years

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must show proof of the following (as pictures or a video < 2 mins):
 - show before, in-progress and completion of setting up the Level One Pee Spot
 - clear imagery of the signage

We have these trails back in the woods and sometimes people don’t want to walk all the way up front to relieve themselves. I’m ok just going wherever, but maybe this’ll make some people more comfortable. I’ll put in a nearby dry outhouse too, if I get up the gumption.

Anyway, I now have a pee-spot.

I'm banking on the fact that aspen are a kind of white poplar, but I'm also trying to root five willow cuttings that I'll plant in a arc behind/beyond the site as I've framed in in these images. I think that satisfies the need for urine-loving plants.

(My bad on the missing images, I had that on my list of things to document, but had a brain-fart…)

I definitely wanted a pee spot in my backyard! It's long and skinny, and my garden is all the way at the back, so I or my kids are often dashing back to the house. Well! I'm done with that.

I'm hosting a permablitz next weekend so I wanted to be sure to finish this pee spot in time!  I transplanted 2 comfrey, 2 rhubarb, 3 squash, 3 narrow leaf willow, and 4 balsam poplar.

I’ve been using this pee spot long before it had signs and the accoutrements. Now it’s all official.

Another slight confession - my rhubarb dealer fell through after I made the sign, so technically I am ‘barbless at the moment.
Hoping I can get some in the coming weeks before frost.

I do have a well established pair of cottonwood trees and two comfrey plants.
