I thought a lot of the candy was handed out. Sorry I backed a lot of projects but this one was the most complicated as far as reward system goes.

Oh perhaps there aren't downloads at all, just videos on the site itself. That might be what was confusing, I thought I could download the videos.

We have been handing it all out over the last several days.  

As of this moment, everything at the $1 level has been handed out except for the "public thanks" - and we are working on that today.

Paul said that two weeks ago. A lot of things have been given out since then, and I can see you have access to all of the above perks right now. Can you please check?

For each item you get an email.   And we have been super generous with the $1 supporters, so there are a lot of emails.  

Take a look at the first item: the hugelkultur micro doc.    My records show that you have access.   Of course, if you are not logged in, or you are logged in with a different account, then it will ask you to pay for the item.   But if you are logged in correctly, then the video is embedded on the page.  

Same goes for each video.

Each set of plans, pdf file or zip file (podcasts) will be in giant letters as a download.

And none will appear if you are not logged in.

I have now handed out all of the candy except for three things:

o public thanks
o $10 level "pick one evening presentation"
o $15 level "pick one full day"

Surveys have now been sent to the $10 level and the $15 level to ask which one they want.


Everybody at the $1 level to the $30 level has been sent a survey asking how they want their name to appear for the thanks.  

We are working on the $60 and up folks to ask how they want their name to appear for the thanks.

I am not very good with following the links to all the "candy"  which came with the $250 level.  I believe I saw a list of the "candy" for each level somewhere.  I can not seem to find it on my hard drive now.  Do you have a list?  Is there a link I can go to where all the links for each level or the level of my contribution so I can just check it off when I have received each gift?    I find the one email at a time confusing and hard to manage.  I do not have access to my computer everyday nor the time to check every email.  I hope you can help me find an easier way get all the information at this level of contribution.  There is much to learn and I not sure how to get to it or if it is even out there to get yet!!!  Thanks.

Can you tell me how to get these Downloads and  the HD Streaming to a DVD or to a Thumb Drive?  My computer seems to be very slow in the download.  It will absolutely take me next to forever to download all the Above.  And I don't know how to download the Streaming DVD sets.  I thought they would come to me as DVD's so I could watch them as I was ready for each topic.

I do not understand the question.  The way the question is phrased, it sounds like you are asking about how the ATC is different from the PDC.  But I doubt that is your question.

The micro docs are for viewing here on permies.  The intent is "forever" - but I'm reluctant to say that because so much stuff changes over the years.

I strongly encourage you to not download them all, and instead to watch them all via instant view.  

Any sort of download comes with a large expectation that you have the bandwidth for downloads and the knowledge on how to store the downloads.

Paul, if I'm understanding correctly you're saying there's supposed to be a couch icon on items to which we have access, correct? If so, then it's not showing yet. Attached is a screenshot of something I have access to. By the way, it would be nice if there was a link to a list of the things we have access to, maybe a link at the top or something in our profile? It's obviously stored someplace behind the scenes.

Thyri, the couch thing is not yet implemented. You will start to see couches very soon!

I've been slowly downloading the PDC tiny downloads (I'm up to 009) and some of them will not. I get an error message for 009, 008, and 001 - 'The file could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that preview doesn't recognize' .  002 through 007 work fine.  Anyone else having this problem?
Another question - Do we have access to these downloads for ever and ever or is there a time limit on this whole downloading drama??

When ever you get messages like that about files you download. Please try to download the file again. Generally it means the file did not download correctly and you need to try it again.

As to your second question, I think Paul answered that one a few posts above, the downloads are "forever" (note the quotes on the word, this is due to depending on changes to the system in the future and the transient nature of the internet).

This is why i wish to discourage people from any of the downloads.  The instant view stuff all works as expected and people don't have problems.   But with downloads ...  people gotta know some stuff to get the stuff to work.  

I think if a person is gonna be downloading a whole lotta big files, it would be wise to get a "download helper" plugin for your browser.  They are super resilent.

I have tried the Instant View several times and am denied access. 'You do not have sufficient privileges to access this message'.  Yes I am logged in. Correct e-mail etc.

I would be quite happy not to have to download all of the Tiny's but don't seem to have another option.
Is there a button that needs to be pushed at your end of things to give me access to the Instant view?

At this point, I suggest getting a download plugin for your browser.

Thank you very much for having the downloads. I realize that you mostly hear about people who are having problems but I really appreciate that they are available. I assume that if I'm having a problem that is probably on my end and try again. That has worked so far. Between the fact that my home connection is slow and that I like watching the videos at two to two-and-a-half times speed, downloading videos when I'm someplace with a faster connection just works better for me.

For each item, we sent you one email.   Each email has a link for you to the item.

Click on your name and go to your profile. On the left, about half way down you'll see Ledger & Payments console - click that. Again on the left, at the top, you'll see a list of links. Click on the one that says Premium threads I purchased/rented. Then you'll see a list of all the threads you have access to.

Hi, I'm backer #63 from the Kickstarter.  I backed at the $200 level which includes:
• Rocket Mass Heater 8-DVD set as HD Streaming

I am having an issue.  I have the same email address for both Permies.com and Kickstarter.  I double checked to make sure.  But, when I click on the links to the rewards as shown above, it still expects me to pay through PayPal even though I am logged in at both Permies.com and Kickstarter at the moment.  How do I get the rewards for the level I backed through the current system without using PayPal?

Now, even though I have matching email address for both Kickstarter & Permies, I did get an email from the Gir Bot (included below), which is strange because it sent me an email to tell me that it didn't have my email.

I think there is a bug in our software.   I have contacted our developer to get some clarification that.  

But I can solve a small part of the mystery:  you created your account on july 7.  Gir bot's email was sent out in june.  So, gir bot didn't know you when he sent out that email.  

BUT!  The moment you signed up, gir bot should have connected you to all of your candy.   THAT is a mystery.    I hope we hear back from the develop in an hour or two.

Upon initial investigation, it seems that the streaming videos work.  I will test each Candy link to make sure, but I think my problem is solved.  Thank you so much for such awesome and prompt help.  I can't wait to dig into all these goodies.
