What kinds of projects should we do this year?
Focus is on roundwood, greenwood, hand-tools, and the synthesis of function, beauty, and expedience.
I'll start the bodger track, and then Alis Yoder will take over the second week to really show us how it's done.

Keep in mind, several of them may turn into building plans, like the Log Picnic Table.

Click +1/thumbs up, or give apple or pie to the ideas you most want to happen.

If you have an idea that is not yet on this list, feel free to add it as a reply.

Pro-tip: If you are coming to the event, we're waaaay more likely to do whatever project(s) you want to do.

More log picnic tables
Staff note (paul wheaton) :

The idea here is to build one that is even better.  Zero screws.  Simpler design.

One problem we ran into while doing the roundwood chairs last winter was finding the right dimensions of dried wood for the tenon pieces. Will there be a good selection of lengths and diameters around?

I would love to see a round wood work table with a flat top and an innovative wooden vise to hold projects in place.

I like the idea of roundwood bedroo. Furniture such as a bed, end tables, TV stand etc... I won't be making it, however I do think that would be neat:)

How about a design for a roundwood boom crane? I've been considering something like a lifting gate at my driveway entrance using a boom crane type thing. 🤔

We have a number of roundwood sections currently seasoning in the berm shed. They may be ready for use by the time the PTJ rolls around.

Looks like there's a lot of arbor interest.  I wonder if there's a spot at the lab or basecamp where an arbor wants to go.

I still think a bunk bed would be cool.  Like a rugged, large, simple roundwood version.

If we did an improved version of the picnic table design, where would that want to be?

Yeah. What he said. Totally. Wait. What? Sorry, I was looking at this tiny ad:
