2019 Better World Book kickstarter support

We had some people ask if it is too late to upgrade.   I talked to jocelyn about it, and based on a lot of other things going on, then the answer is we are going to be okay with doing upgrades to some degree.   So if somebody at the $10 level wants to send in coin to go to the $100 level, we can faciliate that.  But keep in mind, there are a few things that you will probably not receive because you will not be getting the correct "survey" and there is a good chance that stuff can be lost between the cracks.  But all the books and videos and stuff you will definitely get.  

I'm sure your are getting flooded with messages but...

I'm at the $100+ level of the kickstarter backer and I'd REALLY REALLY REALLY would love to come to the PEP1 or ATC and I just figured out I only live 4 hours way!

However; in my own attempt to save the world in my own small way I've started my own small business providing composting services in my home town. In two years I've already diverted over 30,000 lbs of food waste from going to the landfill and I am a one woman show.

I would love to come but I've got 100+ baby chicks (I use for helping compost processing), clients I have to manage, not to mention I have a homestead and a job that pays the bills. I could come for part of the course? I've done permaculture courses before but you programs look like they blow them out of the water!

I guess to simplify...

1) Is there any way I can come for part of the courses?
2) Are you running the programs next year? If so are they the same time of year?

I'm happy to pay for attending the course next year but it would literally take a year of planning (and saving) to ensure I could attend a whole course.

On the plus side... SO EXCITING! The book and the fact I'm so close! Coming to visit 100%!!!

This was  the case with me, too. I just changed my permies.com email to match my kickstarter email. Hope this helps

I wasn't aware of the permies.com site before I came across the kickstarter campaign and I found out about the kickstarter campaign just a few days before it closed, so I was only able to contribute $12. However, I would like to contribute more because I'd love to see this project happen.

Is it possible to contribute more money - or to upgrade to a higher perk tier ($40 or maybe even $100, if that's possible)? I don't have to get the books as physical copies, but I would very much like to get a copy of the audiobook. It's ok if some of the perks fall through the cracks, I'm already getting what feels like a ton of perks.

Paul advised me to make the request in this forum, so that is what I'm doing.

You can come for part of the PEP1 event - no problem.

But the PDC and ATC - no.   If you come to the beginning and leave early, then it shows that I chose poorly in offering these tickets. And anything else has you miss the critical beginning.

Glory is the one that benefited the most from all the stretch goals.

I was backer #10 at the Glory ($100) level. And when asked to increase my pledge by .77 I did.  I got an email from my credit card company  Friday that Kickstarter had my old credit card # on file, but that they honored it, and to update my card as soon as possible. I updated my card, and Kickstarter charged $1 and credited $1 (guess that is a test). I do not see the $115.77 that I pledged on my credit card activity page.  Should I be worried? Is there anything I can do?

Could someone please remind me of how much the shipping is to Canada?  I feel like this may have been the determining factor for me, but I also felt like I did want to support and get the actual book.

Hi Luetta,

Kickstarter is a time-limited crowdfunding platform. The campaign ended just before 2 PM mountain time on May 10th.

If you would have posted here on Tuesday about the issues you were experiencing, we would have probably been able to sort things out in time. As it is now, once the campaign ended, so did the availability of the bundle of goodies.

Hello all long time reader but first time poster and of course it’s because of my own mistake. I originally backed the kickstarter at the 25 dollar level but upped my pledge to 100, before I realized the mistake I had made the kickstarter was over. I appreciate all the work the the permies team does and am hoping they can save me yet again with this mistake.

Awesomeness, pure awesomeness! I'll use that link as soon as I can (weird pay days in this part of the world, may mean it'll take a couple days extra). I live in Sweden (northern Europe), so shipping x number of books will be expensive anyway - not to mention the insane import tax/fees. Might buy a few physical copies later on to donate to university and public libraries.

Just a heads up if anyone is having trouble getting their payment to go through. I just spoke to my bank and apparently there has been a huge increase in fraud out of the state of New York, where Kickstarter bills out of, and my bank is blocking ALL transaction attempts from New York.

So, if you are like me and having trouble getting your card to process the payment, it could be that. Sadly I don't have a better answer right now than try another card if you have one.

Hello, I have not posted in these forums for a few years. However, when I saw the kickstarter and saw the focus, I had to get involved!!! Such an awesome project!!! Then when I saw that $100 supporters get 12 physical copies of the book, I thought about all the people I could give this book to ... and if I had my name in it ... that would be really, really, really cool. So, my "belly when up to the bar" and I happily pledged $100 (on the first day). Then all these "stretch goals" came up and I said ... WAAAYYYY COOOOLLL!!! This is the best $100 ($115) I have ever spent. Thank you Paul and Shawn and everyone else responsible for making this happen. This has been long overdue.
