Did it work?  Was it super easy?  Did you start from being logged in?

I started from being logged in, I entered how I'd want to get paid, and that I am a US citizen. I clicked to save the settings, and it showed me My f-code is 804 and I have $0 and 0, 0, 0 , 0 everything else. Below there's a list products to explore, with monetary values. It was easy, and it made me want to become rich off you guys! :-D

Not sure what your goal is, but you succeeded in making me aware of the affiliate program!

IPAD PRO using chrome

Not logged in
no F- code

clicked the link and arrived at page to login
logged in and landed on random forum page
I now had 3 tabs open, the not logged in, no F-code tab, the login/create account tab, and a forum tab
maybe to recreate you need to have the setting "open links in a new tab?"
It worked 2nd time through when I started as logged in
F-Code 805

Logged in automatically as usual.

selected 2d test, fairly quickly filled out the form (tho rarely use PayPal so not sure of my name there), got an f-code 806. Can't see f-code on original page even after refreshing it.

Using several years old Chromebook with chrome browser.

Is the f-code supposed to be visible on any page I am logged in on?  I did the third step and my code did show up when I did the hovering.

Sure wish I had a website folks visited so I could get in on this income stream!

I clicked this link. I already have an affiliate account. It says my f code is 761. Is that all you wanted us to do? Easy. But I was signed up already.

Our code guy made some changes.

I just fired up a different browser and went through all of the steps.  It seemed perfectly smooth.

Anybody else wanna try this test again?

I just did it all again, and it dropped me off at the affiliate page - where i started.

But, not an ipad.

Any chance you have cookies turned off or some sort of security?

Yes, that's what happens to me when I'm viewing the forums from logged out, and then go to log in; it brings me back to the main forum page B depicted. My solution is to then re-click the email link that brought me to the forums, at which point I'm logged in and can do whatever I needed to. I'm on PC/Chrome, not iPad.

I wonder, B; would reloading the original tab after logging in help?

My Test:
(I tested the link and have an f-code (226). Garden master course page links all had my f-code in the button hyperlinks as I expected)

I think what we want to have happen is that you don't need a work around.  Instead, you log in, and are taken back to the aff page.

Of course, this is assuming that you follow the link within the post to log in.  If you follow the thing at the top to log in, I would expect to be dropped off at the main forum page.

Are the two of you using the link within the post?

The same thing happens to me.  If I am logged in and click on the link in the email, it takes me to the thread and I can interact with it normally.

If I am not already logged in, I click on the link in the email and it takes me to the linked thread (or freebie page, or whatever the email link is for).  Then I click Login/Register at the top right corner of my screen and log in.  The forum redirects me to the home page and I have to go back to the email and re-click the link to get to where I want to be.  It would be nice if upon logging in it took me back to the page where I was when I clicked the login/register link instead of the home page.  Since the forum updates where username and password are on separate pages while logging in, the forums no longer play nice with BitWarden password manager either.  It always would auto-fill the login info, but now I have to do it manually.

So it is a system wide thing that if you are not logged in you will be taken to the internal link in the email but that internal link is not saved when you log in.   The current email has the internal link #2956384   The log in URL is  https://permies.com/forums  so not even the topic but the topic is there to click on if it is recent.  Whether you can get your programmers to make log in URL redirect be the current page with the internal link is the question to pose in the programmer's forum.   Yes i have been through enough April fools shenanigans to know there is another forum that works on such things.

Here is the test of the moment

When not logged in, go to https://permies.com/wiki/279979/garden-master-affiliate-info

In step 1, it will say something about logging in.  Click on the link within step 1 (do not click on the login button at the top of the page - outside of "step 1").  The link within step 1 has magic sauce that should bring you back to the affiliate thread.

The test right now is:  if you click on the link within step 1, and then follow the log in stuff, does it automatically take you back to the affiliate thread, or to the main forum page?

The above images are in reverse order, sorry.

Repeated the attempt in Safari browser, same outcome.

Of note - when clicking a link in either browser on iOS, the default is to open in a new tab.  So the affiliate thread remains open in another tab.

I think the most critical test is for a brand new account.  So it would involve creating a new account, and then submitting the "how i wanna be paid" bit.

I logged out and made a new account.  It all worked perfectly!  No extra steps or back and forth, no extra open tabs or work around.  Used Samsung s23, chrome latest update.
