Hi Permie chums

I just wanted to say hello and share a little bit of good news. The American sales of Permaculture magazine are growing and growing. I think this shows that lots of new people are coming to the subject and this has to be good news.

If anyone does want to list any courses in the magazine or on our website then you are very welcome. You can click here for more information in this regard.

Not to sure of the etiquette on here, and I don't want to come across all 'marketing' but just to say we are here, ok

I have been a subscriber to permaculture magazine for a long time.  Some of the very best articles on permaculture I've read in this magazine.  Always an excellent resource!

I discovered Permies.com  through the magazine.

We just want everyone to feel they can learn what they need to, it is great to be meeting people on the other side of the pond for the first time. Like this site www.permaculture.co.uk ours is developing the visual resources as well as things to read. In the UK more and more courses are filling up as more and more people are wanting to know what they can do to make a difference to their lives and the planet. Is it the same think in the States?

i think you should be able to subscribe and view the monthly magazines online, if i wanted to get them it seems they have to fly over the ocean to get here first.

We have just started to make these available (we are way behind American readers in this respect over here, but we are learning). You can even subscribe to the magazine online. 

I uploaded a podcast I did with Maddy Harland, the supreme ruler of Permaculture Magazine.  She talks with me mostly about permaculture stuff, and just a tiny bit about the magazine and books in her queen-dom.

We start off talking about her visit the mighty, the glorious, the amazing Sepp Holzer.  She went to a desert in portugal where Sepp did his thing (tamera).  Once again he brings lakes to the desert, and shows how to grow all of your favorite garden plants without irrigation in a desert.

We talk about vegetarians keeping pigs.  And I tell my story about Sepp Holzer, pigs, blackberries and a vegetarian. 

We then talk about farm income models that Sepp advocates and Sepp's book that has recently been translated to English.

Maddy has a new blog at Mother Earth News.

We talk about the works of Ben Law and Patrick Whitefield.

Any-who, the magazine is awesome, I have been reading it on and off for years.  I especially liked an article years ago about someone like Paul who went around documenting Permaculture and Industrial Ag & then went to her home family farm and turned into a permaculture farm.

That article has been sent to more of my friends on farms nationwide then pretty much anything else I have ever read.

I've been talking to Maddy and Tony a fair bit in the last month or so and would like to develop a deeper relationship with them.  So I did the podcast interview with Maddy and posted that.  I think it turned out really good.  I like the idea of the folks reading the magazine learning more about permies.com and I like the idea of getting more people here with their noses in the mag. 

It's been one of those really cool things where they are openly supporting me and that makes me feel really good and I want to return the favor.
