Hello,

So for me My favourite Christmas song is Gloria,
But the song I hate the most is Australian Jingle bells followed by Feliz Navidad.
My reasons is having to sit though years of school kids doing the same presentation of the two songs each year at the local carols.

Dashing through the bush,
in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust,
esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side,
singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in
my singlet, shorts and thongs

.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia
on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

.
Engine's getting hot;
we dodge the kangaroos,
The swaggie climbs aboard,
he is welcome too.
All the family's there,
sitting by the pool,
Christmas Day the Aussie way,
by the barbecue.

.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia
on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

.
Come the afternoon,
Grandpa has a doze,
The kids and Uncle Bruce,
are swimming in their clothes.
The time comes 'round to go,
we take the family snap,
Pack the car and all shoot through,
before the washing up.

.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia
on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

Regards,
Alex

Please listen. I need everyone's help to move "Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart" to the top of the naughty list.

The reason: this barf-making little number, in all its insipid, witless, glory, is mutating and multiplying exponentially. I heard three, extended cover versions in my last foray to a grocery store.

The good repute of civilization itself is at stake. People of good conscience must take a stand. Please help me mask this contagion and its variants.

And for anyone who's forgotten how depressing this song is, I remind you about my candidate - Christmas Shoes:

Look at "bright side", at least it's funny and doesn't have the same-o, same-o "jingle bells" crap LOL.   Kind of like..."All I want for Christmas is Two Front Teeth" LOL

Yeah, wow, the sap is flowing there. Sure, it's Christmas, and I allow my pupils to dilate a bit and be sentimental. But that one shovels fake-ness with an excavator.

"Chipmunks Roasting On An Open Fire"

Actuallly, I like it. A silly spoof done well (not medium-rare, since it's wild rodent). Very Permie, I think. Eat local!

I don't know how I got here today, and I wouldn't call it a Christmas song, but I LOVE "Baby It's Cold Outside".  It's flirtation at its finest.  I do not find it offensive in the slightest.
That being said, anything featuring the chipmunks should be banned, and I abhor "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses.
Does a "thumbs up" mean I hate the song and want it moved higher on the hate list, or does it mean I like a song?

The original lyricist for "I'll be home for Christmas" lived in the village I am from and supported the arts/recreation for kids over the years. When they passed, they even left a fund to continue to impact the youth for many years to come.

I'll be honest, it is a wonderful song with a wonderful meaning BUT... it is seared into my soul. Every year in school for choir, there was some kind of arrangement involving "I'll be home for Christmas" every holiday season. I've learned the baritone part, I've learned the bass part, I even had to learn the tenor portion at one point in choir practice. If you told me I had to perform one song perfectly or else you would steal my dog, I could give you a performance of 'I'll be home for Christmas" right from the hip.

It is not the worst Christmas song, but it is the worst Christmas song to me because it has been overplayed.
