This week's GAMCOD update is now available. Enjoy! I'm quite pleased with its progress.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading and watching, and enjoy your day...!

Well, no one expected this to happen. It's likely the amount of water used during irrigation at Basecamp caused this mudslide.

A couple trees were knocked over, including this nectarine: originally planted during my first couple months here.

...What a challenge this will turn out to be.

After consulting with Paul, it was determined that we'll create a scaffold-like structure of wooden pins and poles, then cover them with earth. Planting of various rooty plants will come after.

At the end of day one, we had the upper portion staked-out. I had also eased the trees upright again - including that nectarine.

This afternoon, I worked solo on the bottom half of the hillside. More pins and more bars were added. I think we'll be finding ways to put soil back in place starting Monday.

Meanwhile... LOOK IT'S A BEE SITTING ON A SUNCHOKE FLOWER!

LOOK IT'S A COOL SPIDER UP AT THE YURT!

LOOK IT'S EARLEE THE CAT AND ONE OF HER KITTENS!

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

Just to check another potential cause...  Might there be a leaking plumbing line somewhere near the top of that landslide?

Is that on a hugel around the FP house?

Technically, yes. However, nothing was planted on it besides those trees. Had we lost some vegetables, I likely would have taken the rest of the day off after seeing it.

It looks like it's time for me to write you a reality check! Or maybe a tiny ad!
