This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in textiles

In this project, you will knit or crochet a pair of adult-sized fingerless gloves.

This "Easy Fingerless Mitt" pattern is by Maggie Smith and is available at Ravelry.com

Another fairly simple pattern for "Reading Mitts" by Susie Rogers.

Some pattern ideas:
 -  Fingerless Glove Patterns from All Free Knitting
 -  More Patterns on Ravelry.com (requires logging in to Ravelry)
 -  27 Free Fingerless Gloves Knitting Patterns - Sarah Maker

Here's a surprisingly stretchy bind-off video that can be used at the fingertip end of the gloves.

Badge bit requirements:
 -  Knit or crochet a pair of fingerless gloves
 -  must be made from natural yarns, such as wool, cotton, hemp, silk, linen
 -  gloves must fit the wearer's hands - not too tight or extremely loose
 -  gloves must be knit on no larger than size 10 needles or size H hook

To document your completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pics or video (less than two minutes):
 -  your materials
 -  your gloves in progress
 -  your completed fingerless gloves on hands

I knit these fingerless gloves using 100% wool yarn on a 6mm circular needle. They were knit two at a time in shortcut brioche and are very snuggly! :)

I have already made my son a hat and gloves.  He also wanted a pair of fingerless gloves.  These are by no means
perfect but they do the job.

The hat came out good.  The gloves looked really bulky so I tried using a smaller crochet hook, E, instead of the H
I used before.  They still look bulky so I'll be trying a new pattern next time.

I used the leftover orange yarn from the hat I made to make fingerless gloves to match! I used 100% cotton yarn and an I size hook (5.5 mm).

I used the suzette stitch from the tutorial below. I crocheted a rectangle then crocheted it together leaving thumb holes.

Cheery red cotton yarn from a sweater I dismantled. I crocheted a rhombus made for my strong forearms tappered to my weaker hands (we all have our strengths and weaknesses 😄) and stitched it closed leaving space for the thumb.
