Probably no one will get back to me in time for it to be useful, but clarification might help others in the future. Can we take stuff out of the fire and finish it in a haybox for this? It seems like it ought to be a good permie thing to do unless managing the heat of an active fire across the entire chore is an important aspect of the BB.

Ok, four dishes in and on the fire!

For breakfast, eggs scrambled with onions and chiles topped with a little cheese, and slices of spit-roasted vegan sausage. (The spit-cooking requirement took some thinking for this vegetarian.)

For lunch, potatoes baked under the coals, topped with beans cooked from dry in a Dutch oven, lightly mashed with salsa and cheese. (In truth, I let the Dutch oven go nearly dry and the top layer of the beans was scorched and thrown out, but the bottom layers were fine. Next time I’ll know to check the water level periodically with such a long cooking and top it off as needed.)

I think that's an important skill to have.

Please note that ALL food prep BBs strictly prohibit plastic, teflon or aluminum touching the food during the cooking or storage process.

This includes food that came in plastic containers from the store, ziplock bags, plastic cooking utensils like spoons, spatulas, teflon pans, etc.

The end goal is to move toward cooking from own-grown ingredients and similar sources and using PEP principles (for example sustainable and non-toxic materials) as much as possible.

Some BB submissions are being grandfathered in, but we are moving toward more strict enforcement of this policy.

I was camping a few weeks ago and knocked this one out!

First recipe - hot dog
  Heat up and eat straight

Second recipe - sweet potato
Cook in coals, cut into pieces and eat once it's cooled down enough to not burn your mouth

Third recipe - shishkabob
Onions, peppers, chicken chunks on a skewer.  Cook till chicken is done.  Unskewer onto a plate and eat.

Fourth recipe - onion
Cook in coals, cut into pieces and eat once it's cooled down enough to not burn your mouth

Minimum requirements for this BB:
- Cook 4 different things on an open fire
  - Wood fire on the ground - not in a grill
  - At least 1 item buried in coals
  - At least 1 item is cooked on a spit
  - Not a skewer on a grill

I cooked marshmallows, brats, potatoes and squash while camping. The brat was cooked on a willow spit. The fire is on the ground, but inside a metal ring, as prescribed by fire regulations in my area.

S'more recipe: roast mallow, add chocolate, smoosh between graham's.
Brats recipe: find all beef, organic brats at Natural Grocers, so your kids can roast weenies while camping and you can fulfill a bb. Heat through til perfection.
Potatoes recipe: wrap in a leaf, squash in this case, so it burns, saving the potato skins as much as possible. Surround by coals. Cook for close to an hour.
Squash recipe: slice squash into chips, place into hot skillet with butter or lard. Brown.
