I found several neat pairs of things. Yay Tuesday the Twos day!!

Two lovely old hand crank drills! The bits are in the garage, I didn't dig any up to pose them with the drills

Two big heirloom pumpkins that will be canned down soon!

Two well loved, beaten and abused turning forks, both modified. Also two hands of my oh so patient mom!

Two packs of Baker Creek heirloom seeds that I'm trying this year! Baker Creek is an addiction....

I've got all sorts of "2's"! I really wanted to get Mr. & Mrs. Seaberry planted in their forever home in time to celebrate 2's-day, but alas, it's close, but the weather changed and I just didn't make it. Seaberries are those less common plants whose male and female flowers are not just separate (think Hazelnut) but on male and female plants like Monkey Puzzle trees, Ginkgo trees and Seaberries.

So instead you get a picture of my Stars - Bellatrix and Beetlegoose named after stars in the Constellation of Orian.

Here's 2 large root crops from this winter & 2 controlled burns from yesterday. That might not seem permie but it is. We do that to prevent wildfires & to provide preferred conditions for the longleaf pine trees & the critters who live here. Some of the critters are endangered species & live only in prime longleaf forests. Others are rather tasty. The fire does not harm these critters or these trees. They actually need it to thrive.

It's lambing season at our farm and the lambs often come to this world in adorable pairs:

Here is a photo of our calf hanging out with a sheep, not the same animals but still a pair

Here ya go!

Feast thine TWO eyes upon the DUO of TWO much rain while it's way TWO cold for my TWO hundred six bones. Below observe the TWO much ice where once stood TWO mighty oaks growing TWO hundred feet across the TWO cracked lane. Oak TWO cracked in TWO during another ice storm TWO lenthy years ago. The TWO yard tall stump is stationed as sentry positioned TWO the left. What? Is it TWO much?

TWO sets of humans possessing TWO kinds of chromosomes and TWOTWO autosomes came and cleared the TWO tall timbers threatening the power lines. Team TWO restored my power before TWO days had passed. I'd feared for night TWO without heat for my TWO sets of very cold toes. The TWO times DUO reduced Hunny's TWO much work that's been postponed TWO years thus far.

Before I go, I simply must inform you that the icy sight was documented TWOTWO days ago on TWO TWO TWOTWO which was the day after TWOsday.

And by the way, this post was edited TWO times within TWO minutes on TWO TWOTWO TWOTWO another TWOsday.

Two pruning saws, one with a blade for green wood, one with a dead wood blade.

More twos from my world!

Two lovely handmade quilts! I didn't make either, the one on the right was made by a friend, the one on the left, which is hand stitched and hand quilted, was in a dumpster. I happily gave it a new home! The quilts are on the walls, insulating drafty spots.

Two sprouty potatoes. Calm down taters, it's not planting time yet!

Two of my favorite tools, I call them mattocks, I'm sure they have separate names, but they don't care what I call them.

Two ferments on the kitchen counter. The brown one is kombucha, the orange one is something weird I'm doing with squash, it tastes like orange juice! How odd!

Two jars of Big Leaf Maple sap, filling!

(It was going to just be two taps, but I had left-over hose, and couldn't resist putting in another tap!)

Yup, I'm lazy! I just drilled a 2inch hole with a 3/8ths drill bit, then shoved 3/8th food-grade pipe in the hole, and then put the other end in a mason jar, and covered with aluminum foil to keep the bugs out!

Happy Twos-day, everyone!  ....here are two gate panels that I made from some locally sawn red cedar, complete with lichen (which is really likin' all this rain).

Cheers!

This 2s day, yesterday, we had an interesting meeting. It started at 2 PM, of course.

We talked on (permaculture) garden plans and other plans for the coming month and what help we need from each other. The group having this meeting is the 'physical needs circle' of a local (regional) 'parallel community', which came into existence last year (partly because of the 'restrictions', partly after a book-reading group talked on Charles Eisenstein's 'The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible').

Howdy,

I just want to say this was a fun post. I wasn't even thinking about it, until I saw what Pearl was posting...2 hand brace drills, 2 very used, modified turning forks (my fave tool, also modified).  It just got better after that, 2 controlled burns, a tapped big leaf maple, hand pruners ("don't leave home without em"), only 1 set of twins(?), all really nice varied bunch of photos, showing a bit of each of us.  I couldn't get my 2 dogs into the same photo, or my 2 1959 Morris Minor autos (I need parts).

Thanks for starting this, Pearl. It was fun for me and I also call them Mattocks.
