[Evening Entry]

“..to observe, listen, help.. a scaleable purpose for life..” a fellow permie told me recently, while discussing what humans can do that’s worthwhile.. to me it sounds a little or a lot like gardening..
.. growing up, I’d often witness my parents both out in their gardens doing gardeny things.. I never really saw myself doing those things because I didn’t understand the process.. I didn’t understand that a sense of purpose in gardening is the very thing that is life-giving.. in other words gardeny things is innately fulfilling.. my folks understood it then and probably to this day observe, listen to, and help growies.. that fellow permie has somehow made sense of his search for purpose..
.. one day I shall have my own garden and gain experiential knowledge.. what grows in your garden?

.. today was greenhouse day.. we worked in the snow to gather, peel, and install some logs.. it’s cold, so wearing layers helps.. I love sweaters and long sleeves.. when I was a youth, I thought they were such a drag.. shorts and a tshirt was all I wanted to wear (this was in southern California).. now that I’m older, I think about how awesome it would be to have more layers.. change gonna come, nephew.. change gon’ come..

.. as the greenhouse build nears its completion, I begin to feel a kind of bittersweet weariness.. I guess it’s like that with almost any project.. the finish is just beyond the horizon and it’s exciting.. also it seems still far away.. so we focus on one day at a time..

.. a bit tired.. not sure why.. possibly due to the sugar intake since Christmas.. starting this week, I’m going sugar free again.. it was awesome while it lasted!!

.. today was a nice Friday.. I like everyday actually.. and yet, today was a special day in which I let my hair down ‘extra’, so to speak..

.. had a surprising uptick in energy today.. maybe because yesterday’s “letting down of the hair”.. also, on Thursday I ate many eggs (this seems to be a recurring theme.. the lack of eggs seems to make me feel fatigue).. also my hands felt better on Thursday because I had bone broth soup on Wednesday.. seemingly.. so perhaps coincidence; perhaps not?..
.. regarding the sugar free thing.. it was easier to give up sugar when I knew it gave me an instant headache.. now that my headache symptom is not really around, I have only to rely on my belief that sugar is a mild poison to the human body.. why do I believe this?—the internet.. is it true?.. the argument is quite compelling.. also, I did fine without sugar for the 3-5 years I was sugar free.. now, introducing sugar back into my diet, I’ve noticed fatigue, brain fog, laziness, and more body ache.. will keep you posted..!
