This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Textiles.

In this Badge Bit, you will knit or crochet a blanket for a twin-size or larger bed.  Make it simple with garter or stockinette stitch or show off your skills in cabling, colorwork, or other fancy stitches (if knit).

Minimum requirements:
- Knit or crochet a blanket from start to finish
- Must be made from natural fibers, such as wool, alpaca, silk, cotton, linen
- Must be at least 65" by 90"

To document completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pics or video (<2 minutes):
-  Materials and tools you used to make the blanket including your ball or skein of yarn (if it is store-bought, show or link to the label)
-  Your blanket in progress with needle(s)
-  Your finished blanket next to a tape measure

Approved submission
So now the BB thread is there, I can show the blanket I made and get that BB.
My bed is a 'one-person-bed' (literal translation of how we call that in Dutch), so in English a 'twin size bed'. The blanket I made is in a technique called 'mosaïc crochet'.

My material: 100% Dutch wool, dyed with plants (brand Wools of Holland).
This was my first order, I knew I needed more. Later I ordered the same amount again.

First few squares .

Close up of crocheting a square, so you can see the crochet hook too, my tool.

Joining the squares .

Finished blanket on my bed.
Staff note (Nicole Alderman) :

I hereby certify that this badge bit is complete!

I love your blanket! Yours is a great inspiration for all us as we design and create our own :)
I love the smooth transition of the colors throughout.

Beautiful quilt, Inge! There's a point spectrum for this badge bit. I'm not too knowledgeable about crochet. Do you feel that this would be a 8 or a 9? I'm thinking maybe a 9 would overhang the edges a bit more, but I don't know if the complexity of the pattern and lovely coordinating of colors ranks it higher. Thoughts?

Since 8 is the minimum amount of points you could give, I feel like that should be reserved for the single colored, plain blankets. It'd be disheartening to get 8 points for something such as Inge's blanket.

I'm honestly not the greatest authority on crochet, though I have done some remedial work, but I'd say this is a complex design since she implemented artistic flare with the color gradients. She easily could have made a bunch of squares all the same color pattern- which I feel would be 9 points since I'm personally considering a single colored blanket to be 8 points.
So, I vote 10 points for Inge!
(even though it could fall on the sides of the mattress more, she still technically made it as big as the requirements said)

Thank you. I'll be happy with 9. It's not really large, so no 10 points (I didn't want to buy more yarn). I think Rebecca is right that 8 points would be for a very simple blanket, that's why I would give myself 9 points

BB requirements and points have been revised.  Previous posts are grandfathered in and can apply points earned to their Staw Badge in Textiles.

Would a temperature blanket count if it fits a twin size bed? A different row color for every day of the year based on temperature.

No matter what blanket you make, as long as you follow the requirements for this BB. So a temperature blanket is okay, as long as you make it with natural materials and show the right photos here.
