Last kickstarter we had more than 1400 people click on "notify me on launch" before the kickstarter started.  And then we had 481 people back the kickstarter between 2pm and midnight - so the first 10 hours.

To get in the face of millions of people for just a few hours, we really need a thousand people in the first three hours.  Even if just for $1.

THIS is why we are putting sooooooo much work into all this begging for people to click on the "notify me on launch" button.  That notification is instant.  And if 1400 people get notified and then 1000 people back in the first three hours - we get permaculture pushed to millions.

Strategy.

Not a super great strategy, but it is the best I have been able to come up with.

Please click on the "notify me on launch" button on this page:

and much more!

Kickstarter will launch this project at 2pm this Tuesday!

Click Here to go to our kickstarter page! What do you think? If you click " notify me on launch " at the top, kickstarter might show the project to more new people!

I've been trying since 2 mountain time and I still get a "coming soon" on the page.  Requested notification the first time I went to the page, and never got it.

I just tried with a different browser in case it was a cache issue.  Still telling me its coming soon.

Samantha Lewis wrote:How do we get more people to click on "notify me on launch"?

I know it is a great way to get kickstarters attention.

When lots of people have clicked on "notify me on launch" in the past, kickstarter has bumped our project and shown it to more people.

Any ideas about how to get this to happen this time?

Here is the link!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/paulwheaton/1851897196?ref=bsftvx&token=71785836

Might be kinda cheating, but to get it more attention and higher numbers so it will be shown to more people... Could we all get our spouses or kids to click on the notify me on launch button as well?  Does that even work?

I think what gets more attention is to get 1000 people putting in $1 each in the first 3 hours rather than 500 people.

I think that 5000 people signed up for "notify me on launch" is no different than 500 people.

The key is that with "notify me on launch" kickstarter will send you an email within about ten seconds after the kickstarter begins.  Whereas our monthlyish email takes more than 12 hours to get all the emails out.  So if our strategy is to get 1000 backers in the first three hours, then it heavily depends on timing!

Tuesday at 2!

Synchronize your watches!

Just to be clear this is only a one time $1 payment to support right?  Just hoping to get attention from the kickstarter front page?

I can do that whether I get or dont get any freebies just wanted to be clear what was what.  I'm living off credit cards for the moment and am in zero position to use any of the materials until next summer at utter-earliest but $1 is still nothing.  : P  I could do that I mean.

You want me forwarding this info to others who might be interested in the freebies or such though, yes?  Like having a few other strangers who arent even on permies sign up just to support it would help I assume...

Hello Brian!
Thanks for asking.  Yes, Kickstarter will share the project with more new people when lots of folks are "following" the project.  That is people who clicked "notify me on launch"

The project will "launch" this Tuesday at 2pm Mountain time.    Kickstarter will send out an email at that time.
If a few thousand people support it and pledge $1 in the first three hours or so Kickstarter will show it to even more people.
