Unfortunately there does not appear to be a way to see what is available and what's already booked. Is that possible online or do I need to call or email you guys?
Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place for reservations...

Hi Jacqui,

For the availability, please email bunks (AT) richsoil.com!

At Wheaton Labs, they make ordinary things fun.
Here is Beau, having a blast moving around the property, on one of the electric bikes.

These bikes were given to Wheaton Labs by generous folks who want to help the project.
They help us be more efficient and get more done.
Thanks for giving us a quick, fun way to get around.

2025, the PTJ will run for three weeks! First two weeks will be "adult" PTJ (kids aged 12 years and older are welcome to attend under the thistle program rules)

The third week will be family-friendly week with daycare for the little ones, and small projects suitable for children. Kids aged 12 and older can participate in the adult projects under the thistle program rules.

The third week of the PTJ is priced at $350 per person. (Children under 2 years old free of charge)

For more information about the family-friendly PTJ week, click here.

Come one, come all!  Buy all the tickets!  Bring your friends and family!  The PTJ is the place to be!

Mycelium insulation is non toxic. It is grown from the culture of edible mushrooms.

It has a better R-value than standard insulation, it is extremely fire and water resistant and it is not affected by mice or moths.
You can grow it to fit any shape.

This year at the permaculture technology jamboree, Beau created these boxes to grow lego type bricks of Mycelium insulation.

Here is the unboxing:

People have been asking, so let me be clear:

if we sell 24 tickets (or more), we will have the PTJ and the ticket price will be much higher.  About double to start, ending about four or five times higher.

If we sell 23 tickets (or fewer), then the event is cancelled and all 23 tickets will be refunded.

A big part of the discount is: we don't have the details sorted out, the web page set up, etc.  But some instructors need to know how many people will be at the event before they can commit to the event.  So if people are willing to take risks, there are substantial discounts!

The third week is an experimental week.  Kat will manage the whole thing.  Kat has a lot of ideas that smell like "homeschool co-op."  And she is emphatic that she has not yet hammered out all the details.

My guess, so far, is that the third week will end up a bit like this:

20 adults that brought 20 kids
during build times, 6 adults will be with the herd of kids and 14 will be doing adult ptj stuff
each adult does gets signed up for a certain number of shifts
15 adults that brought zero kids

So this is a very experimental.  It is 100% reasonable for people to say "I need to know the exact details before I fork over money" and my response is "then do NOT fork over money - you MUST wait until the program has been fleshed out more."  And besides, there is a possibility that there be zero event anyway - so no worries.

I have heard from some parents that they are IN and they are totally cool with any format.  So if we get enough of those people, then we will have an event.

Kat has asked me how many tickets do we need to sell to do this PTJ-with-kids-thing and I said "24".

At the moment, we need to sell 8 more tickets in the next six hours or we will not have a PTJ nest year. I wish that we sold 20 more tickets in the next six hours.

I really hope we move these tickets.

This is the only event of its kind, anywhere in all the world.  So many attendees this year said there was just nothing like it anywhere else.  At least one said she felt like she was "home."

Do you think people realize that the event will be canceled if we don't sell out the blitz tickets?

Mebbe.  Dunno.

I tried to be clear.

I assumed that with the importance of the event combined with the tickets being so cheap, that we would hit 24 in a few hours.  Now it has been a few days with hours to go and we still have not hit 24.  Wacky.

Just ordered a ticket. Busy time of year, feels like this sprung up so fast, I'm just now emailing out an announcement to my "networks".

It doesn't even look like Mike H had a chance to email out notice to our local Homesteader group like he usually does with big WL events, maybe see if he has a second between SKIP tasks to shoot something out, it is a BCC list or I'd do it...

I bought a ticket for my wife and I last night, but it was tricky moving around $900 on short notice/after driving home from this year’s PTJ… and I’m a bona fide corporate whore.

I empathize with folks who aren’t afraid of the lack of detail, yet still haven’t been able to make the finances work.

Yay!   So close!

I had so much fun this year at the permaculture technology jamboree!

To me, it is inspiring to meet all these wonderful people who are really doing it!  Living their dreams, building stuff with their hands and creating the world that they want to see.

I would like to help this event grow bigger every year!

There are plans in the works to make next year's permaculture technology jamboree even more dynamic.

Selling tickets up front makes it possible to hire the best instructors and staff.   We can start planning next year's projects and getting materials on site.

Planning ahead is the only way this kind of event can be put together.

It is your help and faith that makes this all possible!
