I finally tackled the multi-decade pileup of T-shirts. All of the cotton shirts got turned into fabric scraps for the textile BB (https://permies.com/p/2959399) and the not-so-cotton shirts got turned into rags. I made sure to cut out all of the designs for sentimental reasons. The backs, bottoms, and sleeves became rags. I didn't do anything special to them, just cut them up.

These are all the shirts from the collection that were some sort of polyester blend.
I used my daughter’s t-shirt that is too stained and worn to wear to school anymore, and my son’s pants that he’s outgrown. (We used them as part of his Halloween costume for its last use and now it’s a rag.)
I set aside the pieces too small to make rags as scrap fabric and the button from the pants is in my button jar.
I got 2 large rags, 2 medium rags and 4 small ones.

After. Using a zig zag stitch, I finished the edges to prevent fraying.
