Hahaha they could but if my first time around was any indicator, I'd just blow the money at the pool hall, and on other stuff I'm not allowed to write about here.

Could They Pay You to Go Through Adolescence Again?

This was a lovely experience and it is there for a reason.

I am not sure who learns from this the most, the parent or the adolescence.

Adolescence (from Latin adolescere 'to mature') is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to adulthood (typically corresponding to the age of majority).[1][2] Adolescence is usually associated with the teenage years,[3][4] but its physical, psychological or cultural expressions may begin earlier or end later.

Like Greg suggests above...if I got to keep my knowledge, I'd consider some kind of do-over, depending on the details. I feel like I have a handle on what's important now in a way that would change the arc of my life. Also, I'm tired of hurting, and having that body back (and choosing to maintain it this time around) would be awesome.

Not to be dramatic, but I barely made it through the first one!

Looking back at it, my problems were small but in the moment, man were they overwhelming. Hindsight is a heck of a thing. Growing up is a double edge sword, that is why my intention is to never do it.

I fear that having prescient knowledge and wisdom would cause me to screw things up even worse trying to get a better life-deal than the first time around. What if I botch things so badly that I never meet my beloved soulmate in 1987?

I would, however, keep an eye out for Microsoft stock in the mid-80s.

Is the original question a joke?
Of course I would do it again.
I turned 75 yesterday.
It's been a wonderful life.
I have 9 children.
My youngest is 2 months old.
It still is a wonderful life.
So much so, that,
I would pay "them" every penny I had to be that young age again.
And do it all over.
Maybe even better the next time.
With ten or eleven children.

With what criteria?  Can I take my knowledge or skills now back to do it?  Can I change it?  If you mean just to endure it again, it would be very, very expensive if at all.  If you mean I could use some of what I know now doing it differently then most definitely yes.

As an aspie(who didn't know I was till about 50), my social skills sucked so basically 5th grade thru HS was a war I attended on a daily basis without support.  I was bullied and the outsider.  In 8th grade my best friend traded what he knew about me for popularity joining the wrestling team so HS was done without anyone who could even be fairly called a friend.

But add what I know now about faking social and reading body language and I could likely improve things immensely.

Or add in my combat skill now and I could have stopped much of the bullying.(with some risk of ending up in jail for murder)

Or in the dating realm simply without even adding social skill, my swing dance skill now(I teach it) would have likely have radically changed things

So if I could take all or some of those back most certainly.

If we are talking adolescence in the same family of origin, then yes.....as long as "pay" is open-ended to support the number and fees of the many therapists and rehab centers required to reverse the effects of said and earlier developmental experiences.

:-)/:-(

Just imagine being able to go back knowing about the autism, about masking, and having some money behind me. And having the courage to tell the abusers where to get off.

Hell yeah I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

I mean, I'm so pleased with where I ended up, but re-running the journey with a bit of understanding and financial back up could be awesome.

When I was that age I thought time was going by too fast and fervently dreaded birthdays. I felt that life was escaping me so quickly. School didn’t feel like living, it felt like being processed, more like grain in a mill than grain in the field. I would happily relive it if offered (actually re-live, not just go through the motions robotically) with three constraints:

- No time travel
- No memory loss
- No having to go through the school system again.

In general I could increase my lifespan by a few years, and perhaps live what I only half lived originally. I think it could be fun.

No amount of money could induce me to do so, it was way too hard.
