spent the AM recovering from the event and getting the shop ship shape. I had a chance to run the shiny new rmh after the hard freeze and it's a little smokey but we'll dial it in if it doesn't itself after break in.

found a gigantic sunchoke felled by its own size and maybe the hard freeze last night. We harvested 3-4 gallons from one plant - awesome!

Our yurt arrived and we'd like to build it now but unfortunately, there's a load of priority ahead of it. Looks like it'll be a mint tho.

We're trying something out for our tuber storage. No apparent reason a pumphouse pit can't double as a lazy man's root cellar.

Back on the pumphouse project - we needed more room to attach the siding logs/shoring and decided to move the frame instead of digging ourselves in deeper. The trackhoe picked it up a couple inches and we were on our way.

I found a needle already threaded for a repair I probably never got to and almost stabbed myself.. instead of throwing it away or the glove ripped up from last winter I put them both to use while eating breakfast.

If your real tough you can shove a butter knife thru a 2x4 but for the rest of us, sharp things are nice. I had little time with our chainsaws and my dremel.

This might be the first time I've done any threshing since I've been here. It's definitely got the gears of mechanized optimization turning in my head.

I won't lie, I'm not into playing with cob when it and the ambient temps are 40° +- 10° but we've got a schedule. A simple jtube at the worksite to warm up the cob and the person working with it.

All of these pics were taken within 2 minutes. It's probably a little more smoke than anyone wants to see but half the batch size and it goes away. Running a tad rich for the riser size maybe?
