Well ya see, it all started with 4 inches of fresh snow on a crisp November day - and then it turned out to be a completely uneventful routine boot day..

BRK 216

There's going to be a lot of pictures in this one and as is science they are all pretty boring to behold but the object is not shock n awe but my redneck flavor of scientific rigor.

The red cabin is a very small building measuring about 8x20 with about an R20 rock wool insulation walls, floor and ceiling.

The numbers in the pictures and descriptions were not achieved with a drag race pace but a somewhat casual approach as I had other projects elsewhere.  My objective here is to give a realistic sense for what was achieved with the current  RMH configuration and include a more strict respect for time, fuel and floor space.

I ran into some issues with uploading more pictures yesterday, so I'm editing them in now.

I've also edited the dimensions of the wood feed in the RMH and the red cabin floor plan to be exact.

I don't intend for this brk post to clear up every or any blurred metric and nuance with regards to using this specific RMH or any other for central heating.  I think there are many who are better suited to that than I.  My main obective was to ring out some extra info from a fairly routine and banal task and allow clever, insightful people to chew the meat and spit the bones.   Thanks

With a normal winter temp difference of at least 50-60 degrees from inside to outdoor temp everything heats up faster. This is a worst case scenario.

So the observation seems to be how much a couple of burns can raise the temperature in the room.   That would have mostly come from the air heated by the barrel and radiation from the barrel.  The mass heating question is how much did the temperature rise in the mass and how long and well did the mass keep the temperature up.

Hah, yeah im surprised with the amount of felling, bucking n milling i've done that this is my first.  Maybe a bit of tunnel vision while I'm doing that stuff and not looking for shiny things.
