Hey Paul and Company!! I paid via PayPal.
Just want to be sure that you received it last night.

Great! Payment sent via Dwolla - they report a 3-4 business day lag for the payment to clear. Does Dwolla tell you the physical address of the payer? I wasn't sure so I included it in the notes.

Check out Gumroad as an easier alternative to Paypal for this type of thing.

How is gumroad different from scubbly.

The issue of the moment is a physical product. It sounds like gumroad does not fit that. So I am really confused at how you think it fits.

Hey Paul,

Yes ... Gumroad can be used to sell digital products, they'll host the download if you like up to 2GB's per product. I understand your confusion as most of their marketing relates to digital goods.

You can easily sell physical products with them as well. You can collect the shipping address, add variations or options, etc. at check out. More info on how it could work for your physical product: https://gumroad.com/guide/basics/selling-physical-items

I checked out Scubbly. It looks cool but a little out of date ... like e-junkie does now as far as clean minimalist design and mobile friendly / tablet friendly responsive design. I'm sure it still works though.

Cheers,

Chris

Chris,

I put about 25 hours into researching a digital download site about two years ago. Scubbly is the clear winner for me. Although your suggestion and your help on the research on this would have been helpful a couple of years ago.

I think we have a solution figured out for the physical jump drives. Sell via amazon. Maybe a few direct. I suspect just a few people will want this - after all, the digital download part is already taken care of. So this is just for the physical part.

True.

But then again,

"IT'S A JUMP DRIVE IN A MASON JAR!"

IMO: the very definition of 'Steampunk'.

Can't wait to get mine. I did PayPal.

I'll take one if indeed you put them on Amazon or I can mail you a check. Yes, I did the kick-starter for the DVDs and downloads, but I need the info now as I intend to go to a site that does not have internet and attempt to teach a group something about permaculture. Not a PDC just one beggar showing another beggar where to find bread.

Great! We could take a check. Put "jump drive" in the memo and mail to:

We're not listing on Amazon at this time due to warehousing fees and such.

We're carefully documenting everyone's payments and will be shipping as soon as we have the drives to send.

"The check's in the mail". Really. Well, in the mailbox waiting for the mail carrier to pick it up.

I prefer not giving Amazon a cut.

Thanks

Have you got a rough estimate as to when they're likely to be sent? Just so I can cross off the days on my calendar!

The quote I was sent said they would be here a week ago. On friday I contacted them to say "where are they?" and was told that there is some sort of hold up due to the chinese new year. What? They said they would give a better date today, but the soonest they would be shipped would be feb 10. (from china?)

I called my mastercard provider and said "I might have just given thousands of dollars to a scam and am being led on to drag out the waiting time. What is the time frame for calling shenanigans on the whole thing and getting my money back?" They said there is no time limit. They said I could even call it right now and get my money back.

I've decided to wait.

Paul: I think you'll be ok. When I lived in Taiwan, everything shut down for about 2 weeks around Chinese New Year (which was Jan 31st this year). Given this scenario, Feb 10th doesn't seem so bad.

I just got an email that says the drives are in the mail to me.

Once I get them, give me a few days to get them in the mail going the other way.

Are these the same as the ones we will get through kickstarter if we supported you at the PODS level?

The PODS at the Kickstarter are just Paul's podcasts, no video, and provided electronically via a zip file.

This jump drive is a physical flash drive in the cool bottle and has videos, plus podcasts from Jack Spirko and Tall Paul.

For me, the decision was easy. My internet is very spotty. They 'oversold' the product, so (particularly on week-ends/holidays) often there are so many users that my connection is lost every few minutes. I cannot watch a video of more than 2-3 minutes without a disconnect. Having all of this on a jump drive allows me to watch videos when my internet is down for most of a weekend.

Jocelyn, Paul, Sam,

Two questions -

1. Are there still some of these available?
2. My Paypal email differs from the one I use for most things. Is that an issue?
