Well that was absolutely lovely. I'm happy you shared that with us. Kittens are just the best. <3

Monday, the first official day of SKIP 2023, and it was filled with a variety of tasks. I grabbed snapshots throughout the day to share.

In the morning half of the day, my team's task was to finish the sunshade project that extends over the classroom building. Not done yet (damnit!) but much closer, like at 93%. I think we'll have the shades up and protecting the classroom by lunch time.

Here's Dez.

Here's Shai.

Here's where they were working. SKIP guest Robert (left) looks on, curious.

Here's the neighbour's yard. They've been haying quite a bit. I'm fond of this picture, though it doesn't do justice to the real view.

Here's Black Spark and all her kittens during cat-nap time in the afternoon.

Since we have a fast-flowing well right now, we're taking advantage of it with additional hydration. Sprinklers are in use on the hugels. This one's at Basecamp.

Finally: here are a few tiny apples. Here's to no "spitters" on this tree.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

Another short video. This one is about garden plans, how they've turned out so far, and what we expect from the harvest this year. Enjoy!

Thanks for watching, and enjoy your day...!

('cause Stone Cold said so...)

Major move forward today. We finally mounted some sunshades on the roof of the Classroom.

I'm elated, though it was several weeks behind schedule. Still, I have a strong feeling it will make a massive difference in terms of comfort in the Classroom building for the remainder of the SKIP event, and I can be pleased with that.

Speaking of SKIP, early this morning I had a chance to see the one-piece and two-piece mallets that the SKIP participants have been crafting. Things are looking good so far.

Speaking of early this morning, here was today's view, shortly after sunrise.

Finally: Here's a nerdy heavy-equipment related thing. An excavator was rented for the PTJ, and was finally picked up today. I noticed the chain-securing equipment the driver used to hold down the excavator on the vehicle's trailer, and I was immediately intrigued. They're a combination of a ratchet and a turnbuckle, providing a very secure hold on the equipment you're hauling, and adds to the weight rating of material being held down. Maybe I can add a few of these to the Millennium Falcon's xmas list...

Also, thanks to Daniel for joining me for tonight's game of Super Skill Pinball.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

I wonder if GIFs will work... Here's an attempt at capturing some of the mesmerizing flights of countless bees through the flowers today.

Meanwhile, it was a hot day today. The cats were all either reclining under the porch, or hiding from me under the porch. Either way, they were all under the porch. Maybe you can see the yellow eyes peering out from the darkness...?

I'm eager to see just how well the sunshades on the roof of the Classroom will perform in terms of keeping things cool. Seems like the Workshop runs much cooler right now, if today was any indication.

Finally: here's a photo of the Moon Gate by the Willow Feeder. Daniel has mentioned that he's very close to removing the barrel form from the structure. I hope to video record the unveiling when it happens.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!
