Stephen B. Thomas wrote:Finally: here's a photo of the Moon Gate by the Willow Feeder. Daniel has mentioned that he's very close to removing the barrel form from the structure. I hope to video record the unveiling when it happens.

I heard that Tim had specific guidelines for how the barrel removal was supposed to occur...?

It's the end of Week 1 of SKIP 2023. It's been a combination of Boot tasks, clean-up and wrap-up of the PTJ, and of course coordination of the SKIP tasks and activities. Throw in the Heat Protocol for a few days this week, and it's kept us on our toes, for sure.

Meanwhile... Early this morning, Puff AKA Batman and Fern AKA Midge/Munch provided some lessons on how to eat a field mouse to one of Puff's kids.

I snapped this panoramic view of the mountains just a bit before sunrise today.

Fellow Boot Shai and I added another sun shade sail to the Classroom today. It's difficult to secure it to the cable - being that the cable is roughly 30 feet in the air, and we have no ladders long enough to reach that height - so we had to be creative in doing this. To sum it up: looks like we still need to work on a new long-term plan for securing the shade sails over this area...

Finally: I hosted a marshmallow roast this evening after dinner was done. It was a BYOC (Bring Your Own Chocolate) kind of affair, which resulted in some fanciful chocolate-mint exotic flavours. Big thanks goes out to SKIP guest Joseph! Mint chocolate is most definitely a valuable asset to any marshmallow roast.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your weekend...!

A day off spent meandering round Missoula. This was the pleasant view just outside of Clyde Coffee, on Higgins St.

Across Higgins, the Roxy advertised a late-night revival showing that I wish wasn't happening past my bedtime.

Although this photo really doesn't show it, the Missoulian population came out in droves in the morning for the Farmer's Market, and in droves again to cool off with river floating.

I picked up another L'Amour book and an anthology. They're both short story collections. The second one is "recent" as of 1984, and even contains a piece by Edward Abbey.

Not pictured, but I picked up a couple books on writing (hey, the Missoula Senior Center's thrift store had a 50% off the price of everything in stock today). We'll see if anything fit for public consumption comes of it in the months ahead. Been feeling the itch to record more detailed and/or nuanced thoughts than just daily happenings.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

Yeah, I think I recall Daniel mentioning something about tannerite. I'll report back soon.

Spent some quality time with these fellows today.

Strolled down to Turtle Lot where I saw SKIP Event Instructor Jae building a retaining wall.

"Never did two feet ever seem so tall," she said to me.

Here's Doug, holding all of Jae's extra rock.

Finally: here are Jae's cheerleaders: a bunch of baby plums...!

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

I think they should change the spelling to Sandy Eggo. This tiny ad agrees with me.
