Another Friday Eve has come and gone. Lots of fun garden stuff today, as harvesting has begun.

Wait, is this a metric time thing again? I must be coming unglued. Eddie's in the time stream...

Ooof! For whatever reason, today knocked the wind outta my sails. I'm grateful it's a Saturday tomorrow.

At the start of the day, we were cobbin'. Here are Liam and SEPPer Aizen prepping cob up at the Lab, using our fancy-shmancy mixer.

I enjoy making this stuff. I especially enjoy the hand-mixing part.

So the task for today was to provide a cob "ring" that seals most of the gap between the pump house roof (which lifts off, pictured here) and the walls of the pump house. Well, the first attempt wasn't the best success. Shown here.

The second attempt was a bit smoother. We'll revisit early next week, and SEPPer Jeff will monitor the interior temperatures to see if there's any effect from air passing through. We'll see.

In the afternoon, Liam and I had a refreshing afternoon up at Allerton Abbey, tending the gardens. Here's a bit of the vegetables Liam brought back to Basecamp with us.

I also harvested from a sunchoke/Jerusalem Artichoke that never recovered well after being knocked-down in a storm last week. This is maybe half a pound: not a bad haul for a single, damaged plant. I intend to pickle these over the weekend.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

A Saturday, tooling round Missoula on my bicycle. Everything worked out the way I wanted today, and I'm grateful.

I waded in the Clark Fork River today.

I found another Western genre short story collection today, in one of those Little Free Libraries.

Speaking of Little Free Libraries, I made a donation today...

Along the Milwaukee Road Trail - which stretches across town from East to West, and has no motor vehicles on it - I looked up and there was a decommissioned railway bridge. Nifty wooden construction.

Finally: a snapshot of the electric blue sky during a break.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

It's a Sunday, and we ease back into Boots work.

While on my daily Pumpkin Patrol, I realized I'd been followed by many of the cats, who all decided to head out on a field trip to the rear paddock by the House.

Here's G Dawg, AKA Gandalf, AKA Mr. G. He likes belly rubs.

Here's a gaggle of kittens investigating the brush pile.

Also, today I finished my wood-burned sign for the house bathroom.

Finally, I started an experiment with pickling the sunchokes we harvested late last week, with garlic and red spicy peppers. Next to them are some pickled carrot sticks.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

Back in business on a Monday...!

I hooked up the trailer to an ebike and rode it up to the Lab today. It was a bit bumpy, but everything made it up there.

He was only here for three days, but he sure made a positive impression with us. Thanks for fixing our grease gun, SEPPer John!

Here's a bashful pumpkin.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!
