POST 449 (DAY 459, Thursday, 2021.11.11)
[Morning Entry]

…..grateful for soup.. grateful for firewood and rmhs.. grateful for friends across the globe..

Wez—thanks! Can’t wait to see ya soon!

….. perspective.. seeking perspective.. seeking perspective when clarity eludes.. another major lesson in my learning.. if my own brain got me to where I am.. and it has a habit of seeing things a certain way.. a certain “perspective”.. then perhaps I can try to adopt a certain other perspective whether it’s from my own beautiful brain or someone else’s beautiful brain, in order to gain some clarity some something that’s weighing on me.. I’d rather not carry this weight by myself if I don’t have to, and there have been times when one little thing that someone else said made life seem magically easier somehow.. the weight suddenly lifted and I could see clearly again.. of course if someone is unrelateable, then their perspective might be also unrelateable..

[Morning Entry]

…..grateful for indoor work on snowy days.. grateful for a self healing body (I’m at about 80-90% well now).. grateful for the contrast of missing a thing to remember how good that thing is (my yoga for example, which helps me center on what’s important)..

[Morning Entry]

…..grateful for a sister I can call anytime, and she’s still the person I’ve always known.. grateful for morning routines—I rely on them to feel like my life has stability; a way to organize my thoughts and feelings in the quiet of my waking hours.. grateful for the opportunity to work with people who show up with so much heart every single day..

POST 453 (DAY 463, Monday, 2021.11.15)
[Morning Entry]

…..grateful for healthy conversations.. grateful for homemade bread (thanks C!).. grateful for new chapters—it’s a good reminder to find myself confused or baffled by something, to the point where I’m humbled.. actual humility opens the mind to learning, or a desire to learn.. humility empties the cup that may have been full of “knowings”.. “I know all that I need to know and then some..” is a capped cup.. anything poured in will simply not enter.. “I know things but can learn more..” is an uncapped cup.. some of what’s poured in might get in there, while some spills out.. “I have learned things, but know very little..” seems to be the empties cup.. when asked “what would I suggest to a new/incoming boot?” My response was, “to arrive empty”..
….. ive learned so much in my first year here.. I knew I had so much more to learn, yet there was something in me that thought I was done learning.. the final lesson for me from my first year here is that the RE-emptying of my own cup is a necessity, periodically and regularly.. this might be my suggestion for boots in their second season.. I sense that I’m entering my second season and a new chapter.. humbled by life’s messages saying to me that I must maintain my own emptied state.. read a page of sepp holzers permaculture book this morning with my ginger tea.. how refreshing to see how little I actually know.. :)

Wez—you got the reference! those are the actual tuxes! Well.. I didn’t check.. so they may or may not be.. the crazy green coffee is a green tea latte.. we got the oat milk version because it’s vegan and better for my tummy that way..
