POST 401 (DAY 411, Friday, 2021.9.24)
[Morning Entry]
….. a “freshman” is fresh—or perhaps new.. a novice, inexperienced.. and then, only after that inexperienced period.. we can graduate..
a “sophomore” is sophomoric—or perhaps an idiot.. overconfident and poorly informed.. how humbling is this nomenclature?.. And then only after that period.. we can graduate..
a “junior” is young—or perhaps just beginning.. inferior, lower, subordinate.. still humbling.. and then only after that period, we can graduate..
A “senior” is old—or perhaps been around a while.. experienced.. then only after all of that, we become freshman again.. we begin all over again.. perhaps every single day.. how to be humbled..
gratefully yours,
happy new beginnings :)
Dez

POST 402 (DAY 412, Saturday, 2021.9.25)
[Morning Entry]
….. some people are just having fun in life and there’s no way to keep them from having their fun.. witnessing this first hand through so many people who come through Bootcamp is one of the most inspiring views, for me.. of course I’ve also met folks who are easily distracted from their fun, via external inputs.. but those who are treading a brighter path are perhaps determined to shine on.. thank you for your inspiration.. this includes permies who are here physically and in spirit from across the globe.. you light up my world :)

POST 403 (DAY 413, Sunday, 2021.9.26)
[Morning Entry]
….. we live and work in the same place.. it’s a homestead.. in many ways this is ideal.. there’s no commute, for example.. yet something commonly seems amiss for this lifestyle.. the travel bug or the thirst for variety.. there seems to be an urge to switch things up, by leaving the campus for a bit.. I’ve felt this urge also, and I have come to believe that it’s part of the learning curve of building a homestead.. it’s like learning to grow roots and stay planted.. ain’t nothing wrong with some travel or variety of course.. these are perhaps necessary in some cases.. the amenities of today’s modern world are tools for enjoyment of our individual journey.. so it isn’t a loss to physical travel less or to get creative about variety activities..it’s learning.. this is a school in many ways after all.. a school where we learn to live and work..

POST 405 (DAY 415, Tuesday, 2021.9.28)
[Morning Entry]
….. who lives here? people who want to do permaculture-y things.. yesterday evening, a dim amber light glows from inside the library.. I peek in and see no ones visible from this angle.. so I walk in, and there are two permies sitting at the dock, hands busy on individual projects.. I didn’t want to interrupt their focus so I tried not to stare too long.. all I got was a picture of the glow.. what were they doing? I think permaculture-y things.. into the night..
