I used Castile soap to wash the dishes and a little bit of baking soda for the stove. Otherwise, I only used a wet rag and a broom.

So I spent an hour doing the dishes (I already have that badge bit), then cleaned the kitchen. I am a very messy cook :( I made a fermented chutney and the carrot got everywhere!

I had a break halfway through to have a cup of thyme tea.

I cleaned the counters, stove, table, and floor (after sweeping first) with hot water and a cotton rag. The sink took a bit of bicarbonate of soda to get rid of the brown stains.

My dad's coming up for the weekend, so it's a great time to clean up!

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must:
- post a before picture of: sink, counters, table, stovetop, and floor
- post an after picture of: sink, counters, table, stovetop, and floor
- post a report on what cleaners you used (if any).  Or a link to the product.

I didn't actually take a picture of the stove immediately before starting to clean, but deep-frying last week is an example of maximal mess.

I realized that I didn't take that picture, so I stopped and took this after I'd started wiping, but not finished.

After all the counters are clean, then I sweep and this is that all done! I mostly don't mop, but when I find little circles of gunk, I just use water on a rag. If it's oily, a touch of soap. That black "rug" got vacuumed.

This is the only soap I used and this time only on the stove and adjacent counter where oil got splashed. Most stuff comes up fine with hot water.

Note: Note of caution: It looks like you have natural stone countertops which can be etched by acidic cleaners like vinegar. Better to use plain water with a bit of soap added if necessary.

Whatever you say buddy! And I believe this tiny ad too:
