This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Textiles.

For this Badge Bit, you will turn trousers into shorts!

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
- turn one pair of trousers or pants into shorts
- a finished edge is required (hemming)

To document your completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pictures or a video (less than two minutes):
- show trousers or pants before
- show turning the pants into shorts
- show your finished shorts

My partner's pants started wearing quite thin in the knees (I'd patched both knees once--one of them twice). When both knees ripped out on the same day (and I could see light through the surrounding material!), I'd decided I had enough and turned them into shorts. The bottom parts of the legs where the fabric is still good so will be used for patches. I was running low on denim patch stock, so this was actually a good excuse to cannibalise a pair.
