Looks good!  Is the black font on the cover page adjustable in how transparent it is?  I'm thinking if it was a bit less transparent it wouldn't jog my brain as much.  More so on your name in the lower right corner.  Maybe that's a standard font that can't be adjusted and then it's all good :)

I'm in!  At this point I'd get the Paperback, because I'm a big fan of having hardcopies when available.

I'll be in, probably for at least the hard cover, though I'll have to start with the $1, because of stuff going on here, and timing - but as soon as it's available, I'll be throwing more support at it! I've set the 'notify me on launch' button, so I'll get the started, right off. It was good to put a voice to you.😁

I don’t know if it’s possible to include the details of the different levels in American and other currencies but it would certainly be helpful for your backers around the world.

Don't know about other countries, but Kickstarter usually displays the pledge price in US currency for me automatically during campaigns. It may be something in my settings, or something that's only available when the campaign goes live.

Looks very nice, Kate!

I'm planning to back at the Paperback level and have signed up to be notified when the campaign launches.

For my past Kickstarters, it was all very clear for non-Australian buyers - Kickstarter automatically converts it in the rewards section as well as the goal amount. For other Kickstarters I've backed, Kickstarter has converted EU, USD, and other currencies into AUD for me so I think it does this for everyone.

I wondered about my author name as well - hard to find the right place for it, that is a good suggestion to change colour or opacity. I might be able to quickly have a tinker with that and upload it again before I send it off to Kickstarter today.

I’m so sorry! I went back to the kickstarter preview and realized that it had logged me out at some point. The different levels still reflect your currency  but the box to put in the numbers is in my country’s currency. I think it looks terrific, I’m ready to sign up.

Good to know that is all working now : )

Thank you and everyone for the lovely feedback, I'm about to press the button to send it off to Kickstarter now!

Ready to go now! That was quick!

Watch this thread and I will post when it goes live on the 15th!

Here's the new pre-launch page if anyone would like to still have a look at it in advance: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/706848724/make-your-own-cheese-natural-small-batch-cheesemaking-book

I think it’s remarkable that the subtle adjustments to the opacity of the fonts can have such an impact!  It looks great

In other kick starters mostly aimed at the d&d crowd there is one currently doing about how to improve your game and the online pdf was about $15usd or $30 for all 3 then for a soft cover book it was about $30usd and i think a hard cover book was pushing the 60 to 70usd but again its a very different market for table top gaming.
As for price wise maybe see if you can speak to a printer and see what your cost would be to do a run of 500 then 1000 books.
As for extras at a higher pledge i know some people have inc peoples names when they have done like a super level of a few 100 dollars or maybe inc like a signed copy or even a 1 on 1 zoom session to help people if they are will to drop some serious coin to get everything over the line.

Kate Downham wrote:Lots of news…
Firstly, I'm in the process of putting the Kickstarter page up, having internet issues though and have to go offline soon so I might not get a chance to post it here before I send it to Kickstarter.

Secondly, I’ve decided on a launch date - Tuesday 15th August, 5pm USA mountain time

Thirdly, while tinkering with the Kickstarter image, I decided I wanted to change the cover, here’s the new cover, not too different from the last, just the top image replaced by two new images:

I don't care what you call it, I'm going to buy any book you put out! I do like this iteration. I'm heading over to Kickstarter to set a launch reminder.

I will be waiting to buy this book the minute it becomes available! This is the cheesemaking book I’ve been looking for, and unable to find all these years! Thank you, and Best of Luck with your fantastic book!

Hi Ruth! It doesn't really work, that way. You would need to go to the link, and click on the 'notify me on launch' button. Kickstarter will then send you a link, when it launches. Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/706848724/make-your-own-cheese-natural-small-batch-cheesemaking-book

Joylynn and Cat, I hope you get your links,

What I have noticed is that usually K.D. comes on to Permies when it’s about 9-11 pm “ranch time”. USA mountain time zone
