“There are no words to express the abyss between isolation and having one ally. It may be conceded to the mathematician that four is twice two. But two is not twice one; two is two thousand times one.”
― G. K. Chesterton
I have a bunch of trees that were allowed to grow between the pole building and the path on this property that I’ve been meaning to take down. So that’s a current project.

All these trees need to go.

A notch.

The branches at the top were resting on another tree’s branches so I had to hit the fibers under tension again with the saw.
Mike Haasl approved this submission. Note: Hint: cut your notch angle much more open (70 degrees or so). Looks like the notch closing may have contributed to it hanging up.
To document your completion of the BB, provide the following as pics or video (<2 min):
- your chosen tree
- tree with the wedge/notch cut
- tree on the ground
- measure across the stump showing diameter
My sister was concerned this cottonwood might blow over in a windstorm and was thinning her horse pasture area. This was a big tree for me so my husband was taking photos and giving me feedback as I worked.
