2000 people will want to talk directly to jocelyn and ask her questions, and, obviously, that's too much.

What does work if people post their questions here and we do our best to answer them here.   And then the people that are selected to come here can then ask private questions via email.

If anybody has a question that they need to resolve privately before the selection is complete, I think that that should be considered "a private consultation" - so maybe $50 for a half hour of private consultation.  Reply in this thread if you want to arrange that.

(I'm just copying what jocelyn wrote below)

Here is the Google survey for indicating your interest in these events at wheaton labs (near Missoula, Montana):
edited to add: book signing party Sept. 21st!! (Sept. 20-22nd for those travelling here)
pdc - June 16th-29th, 2019 - https://richsoil.com/pdc.jsp
atc - July 1st-12th, 2019 - https://richsoil.com/atc.jsp
SEPPer stay for up to a week - https://permies.com/wiki/54140

Click the following link to fill out the survey:

Edited to remove link since that time has passed:  Survey for PDC, ATC, Book Signing Party, SEPPer Stays.

Staff note (Jocelyn Campbell) :

Note that the survey will NOT cover these options, BUT, if you don't make the cut, you could still visit us at wheaton labs in Montana!

Included as a backer reward, from the gapper fee stretch goal that was unlocked, those who put in $100 or more could:

  • Attend the PEP1 event--please post your interest here:  https://permies.com/wiki/98047/PEP-Certification-workshop-gathering-event
  • Join the bootcamp--please post your interest here:  https://permies.com/wiki/bootcamp
  • Join us on one of our tour dates--please post your interest here:  https://permies.com/wiki/62394/permaculture-projects/wheaton-labs-tour#905826

  • If you didn't back at $100 or more, check out signing up via the PEP1, bootcamp, or tour threads above, or consider our:

  • SEPPers Program:  Seriously Excited about Permaculture Pampering.

From this reply in the PEP1 gathering thread, I had some responses that made sense to post here.

R Hill wrote:Thanks Jocelyn, I would be fine with just an extension cord to trickle charge the battery and keep the fridge going without running it on propane, I have a 50 gallon tank for water which should last me a bit and the pump runs off the battery too, and I can dump when I leave at a station off site; I wouldn't even consider exposing anyone to the racket of a generator, hence my desire to upgrade my camper to solar. I wish I had known about your site earlier; I am planning retiring soon and downsizing so I can return to the land and self sufficiency.  I have plans of building an earth bermed home with my sites on net zero energy usage.  Hopefully I can come out later this year, maybe the September SEPPers, but if I bring my camper am I limited to times of my visit or can I come anytime, "with notice of coarse"?  I only asked for the location because I would be driving direct.  I definitely will be visiting you all, if not sooner, later.  Sounds like a lot of fun, and like minded people.

Okay, so I'm not sure, but it sounds like you're not interested in the PEP1 event, but might want to do the SEPPers program, is that correct?

And by the way, thanks for not wanting to do a generator and for understanding all of our RV stuff.

As for the SEPPer stay, you qualify to be in the running for that. I think it's the top 6 contributors get to stay for up to a week as a SEPPer. This is the thread for that. To get in the running for that, fill out the survey in this post above.

I hope that helps. Being new to forums and navigating some of this can be a bit confusing at first. Plus we have just a BIT going on!

    Edited to clarify/simplify:
Though...your situation is different. SEPPers usually stay in one of our bunks, not in an RV. Which means I'm thinking that regardless of whether you make the top six for the SEPPer stay, since you qualify for coming out here for the bootcamp, or a tour from backing the Kickstarter, you could stay in your RV (as a boot, as long as you're doing bootcamp things, or one night for doing the tour) without the other SEPPer program stuff like a bunk and firewood, etc.

Some ticket winners received PDC/ATC registration forms today - WOOHOO! Congratulations and we're happy we'll get to see you out here at wheaton labs!

We are still working at getting to a few other folks, including those who qualified for SEPPer stays, so please bear with us. I think we'll have more notifications out by tomorrow some time.

Please ask questions in this thread, the PEP1 thread, the tour thread, or the Better World Book Kickstarter backer support thread instead of purple mooseages, e-mails, or phone calls. I'd really like to get more than four hours of sleep tonight. (Not exaggerating about the lost sleep.)

A few were sent out a couple days ago.   And the rest are going out today.

A LOT of people want the sepper program stuff.  But we are going to get that part all sorted out later.

For the PDC:  alan and I visited a few nights ago and i mentioned additional students.   He wants to get all of the students prepped for the upcoming course.  Especially those that might not be completely ready for a heavier PDC.   I asked if folks should watch the PDC video and he said that that is a very good PDC, so there would be duplicate info - and I'm thinking "yes, there will be some duplicate info, but that is presented at an easier level."

And here are the teacher's notes for that:

My wife, unfortunately, had emergency surgery on her leg yesterday.  She's gonna be gimped up for 4 months so I won't be able to attend the PDC.  Is there a way I can give my ticket to someone else on here, maybe another donating member?  I think I will have to live with the Online PDC for now.  Is there a discount code for the online PDC for those of us that contributed?  I apologize for all the hooplah I have created!

Paul, any guestimate of when the gift code for the 100 Hours of PDC might be available?  Just wondering if we might be able to brush up with that before the PDC.

If you received a registration form, that was not an error - you are in! Please ask questions in this forum or
    the 2019 PDC thread, or
    the 2019 ATC thread or
    the SEPPers program thread.

Coco and I are scrambling to help run the PEP1 workshop, plus wrangle all the details for the all the other things and we just don't have time for individual phone calls and e-mails.

Asking questions in the thread means others will get that question answered, too.

We know we are behind on getting to those who scored a SEPPer stay and we thank you for your patience with that.

ok, I will readily admit I'm an extreme rookie when it comes to this forum (as can be obviously noted by the number of posts I've made).  I feel completely lost.  I have been watching for an email about the kickstarter stretch goal regarding PDC and ATC but must have missed something.  Can I rightly interpret what I'm seeing here that those stretch goal rewards are probably taken at this point?

Hi Jeff, sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, I *think* we have filled all the free ticket spots. It was the Better World Book Kickstarter Update #28, that went out on May 12th that linked to this thread.

Thanks again to everyone for their patience as we try to answer all the questions and wrangle all the details.

    Jocelyn,

This may be a bit out of left field, but I have a programmable six-quart crock pot in good condition which I have no use for that I was going to take to the charity shop. I don’t know if you still do overnight oats etc. and have any use for an additional crock pot, or if you’ve moved on to the easy bake coffin etc, but I could certainly chuck it in the truck to bring with me to the PDC if you’ve any use for it. If not, no worries!

You are a dear to think of us! If you have room, we'd use it! Two of ours recently bit the dust so we're down a bit. We do use crock pots in winter quite a bit for many things - quite regularly for veg scrap broth. We might have one going for broth, one for overnight oats, and one for soup or chili. And that's with just 2-4 of us around.

    Thanks, Jennifer!

By the way, due to the happy and really cool chaos that was the first ever PEP1 gathering, we are finally getting around to notifying those who won a SEPPer stay. Thank you for your patience with that!

Coco is researching all the details for getting the appropriate e-mails out to each of your for your SEPPer stay reward, so those e-mails will follow later in the day today.

Book signing and packing par-tay is announced!!

    Saturday, September 21, 2019!

You're welcome for the day, or camping or hanging out here from Friday evening, Sept. 20th, through Sunday morning, Sept. 22nd.

If you indicated an interest in the book signing party back in May, Coco has already e-mailed you.

The first detail that we're considering is a dinner of "spaghetti flavored cake" baked in the rocket oven. (I usually make a vegan version, a GF version, and possibly a grain-free version as well.)

More details will be posted here as we sort them out.

    WOOHOO!!

I was waiting for an update, but since we will be headed down that way tomorrow i figured i would let you know here.  is there a meet and greet type thing friday night? if so what time is good to show up? and what time would you like us there for packing books saturday morning? are the questions i was hoping to get an answer to. can't wait to meet you guys in real life.

Terry and i had an awesome time meeting you all and helping out.  All the people were awesome, the food was great, and getting to come there was a bucket list wish fulfilled. We really  hope to get back around someday when we can spend more time. Thank you all so much for having us.
